I'm almost embarassed to ask this question but never mounted a rear sight on an AR that has the fixed A2 front sight. Any considerations on rear BUIS to be on the same sight plane as the A2 post? Seems like some of the ones I've used previously wouldn't be tall enough.

Primary optic will be an Aimpoint and I want the rear BUIS to flip down.

Appreciate any recommendations.

Just about any rear sight will work just fine. I prefer the Troy one's myself.

+1 on Troy sights. All flip up rear sights that I am aware of are the correct height for the fixed front sight.

I'm a fan of Troy di-optic aperature (DOA) site. Anyone run these with am Aimpoint Pro with the standard mount? According to the specs I see on Troy's website, height is 0.46" and the Magpul MBUS is 0.51". Should work just fine.

So the existing front sight doesn't interfere with Aimpoint's sight line? I've got an Aimpoint Comp M2 coming...and just wondering if I'm going to have to spend more $$.

I have it set up as an absolute co-witness and you do see the fixed A2 front sight in the scope but the red dot naturally draws your eye to it. I prefer this setup as opposed to the lower 1/3 because my cheek weld stay consistent on the stock.
