AS I ponder which 922r compliant grip to purchase, I am faced with three obvious choices: Hogue, MAKO, and the US Palm. Plenty of experience here. Sound off with opinions for/against and pics please, including any other options other than the above.

I like how the houge grip feels in my hand. Not to oversized nor to thin like some of the grips that came stock on the ak.
I never tried the others..

Personally I like the MD Arms Molot style grip.

+1 for the Hogue, don't get the hogue handguard, it was way lose on my rifle, but the grips are great, every AK I own has one. On second though, the hogue handguard is awesome! I happen to have one for sale :P

My two cents goes to the US Palm. I just switched to it from the standard grip and needless to say there is a HUGE improvement.

My Saiga came with one of those Molot grips and it's awful unless you have sausage fingers. I'm looking real hard at the US Palm grip; it looks a lot like the Tango Down AR grip, which has always worked really well for me.

EDITED TO ADD: Well, duh, TD and US Palm are the same company.

I just bought two US Palms and I really like how they feel in the hand. I originally thought their texture was supposed to be like the Hogue's and was initially disappointed, but after shooting the rifles, I like the firmness and grip angle of them quite a bit.

Still torn... Palm, Hogue or Mako.... Rachel Ray, do you have any of them on your guns? Anyone in the Foco-Greeley-Windsor-Loveland area?

I have Hogue, palm, Tapco and something an old falfiles member made a few decades back based off an H&K grip. The Hogue is ok, Oddly enough the tapco reminds me of the FN grips FSE did for 922 parts. I am home more than out, sometimes.

If you want it, and if your hands are more manly than mine, you're welcome to take my Molot grip. I'll be up in Longmont Monday or Wednesday night next week.

Man, that would be great! I appreciate the offer! Beer's on me. I'm in the field atm, but we can arrange a meet schedules depending. When's the next time you'll be up North?

Oh great, I was just about to put it into a "free to a good home" post.

I suggest Loveland. A range session at FRGC then mosey across the parking lot to Grimm Bros. I have no plans to travel until mid January, let me know by PM what works to you.

Sounds good to me. I'm in the field through Sunday afternoon, but have afternoons/evenings free. Always up for the range. I'll hit ya with a PM to arrange timing.

I'm trying a Magpul on my SGL21 and I think I like it. The grip angle is a little different but I got use to it pretty quick and I like the added thickness.

I just mounted a couple MagPul grips tonight. They feel great but I have done a workout with them yet. I'm convinced they are are improvement already though.
