They are not anti gun, they just really try to watch their image. People wanted to make AR lowers with wwp logos and were told no as well. The last thing they need is the press talking about how much gun money they took and how many suicides they had from guns.

if someone really wants out... Lack of a firearm is not going to stop them
Dirty broken bottle in an alley, Pipe bomb hug, a can of Lighter fluid and Self immolation. If you want out, there is not really a way to keep you here.
Again the Liberals are trying to blame an inanimate object for actions of people.
I blame beer bottles for my drinking.

They sure know how to talk me and my friends into buying and drinking them!
Well then there is this, if you scroll down...
That's funny, because I ran a WWP event at my gun club a couple weeks ago for WWP Alumni (wounded and disabled vets) to spend the day shooting at my club:
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1383313_Take_a_Wounded_Warrior_Shooting_Day_Event_ at_my_gun_club.html
And last year, I ran a hunting event at my farm, where I had 9 different WWP Alumni hunting on 21 different days. Some of them even <gasp> shot and killed things.
WWP isn't a perfect organization, but never for a moment have I gotten the impression that they are anti-gun. Not only have they enthusiastically supported my events, they have contributed (money and swag), and provided the participants. It must be part of their "stealth anti-gun" program.

There's a difference between not wanting to license your logo on something and being against it in general. I don't for a minute believe WWP or most of its supporters or organizers are anti-gun but I can understand why they wouldn't want their logo on a bunch of AR lowers. They are trying to appeal to a broader public, most of whom aren't shooters and don't have any understanding about shooting or shooting culture. Heck, even those of us immersed in it will disagree on shooting "culture" -- why would you expect some namby-pamby NPR-listening PBS-watching "organizer" to understand (even as your trying to get her to donate $20 to help some of our guys and gals get on with lives that were interrupted protecting HER way of life)?

I don't believe for a second they are anti-gun. One of the most common things they do is host hunting trips for wounded vets. In fact, I know of a large property near Westcliffe that was just purchased to be used for rehabilitating vets through hunting, outdoors and small town relaxation.
I suspect this is simply about WWP not wanting to co-brand.
I will do more research on this.
There are tons of other organizations to support our vets who are pro 2A.

I blame the farmers for growing the grain that is used to make the beer that you are drinking!
Sorry, thinking like a lawyer for some reason today.

Church Says Wounded Warrior Project Refused Their Money
so, whose money is left to take?
Yet another reason why Homes For Our Troops is a much better org.

Independent donors...? Hey, Trace Adkins told me $19/mo can help my fellow veterans out. Between that and the ASPCA and those starving kids in Africa I can't decide who is worthy of my $19.

Thanks for mentioning them. I wasn't aware of this organization before -- great cause and their ratings are through the roof.

One of the guys that shoots our steel matches just moved into his new house. Great organization.

I no longer make Donations to WWP, simple fact that if the organization is not willing to stand up for the 2A then I will not support them. WWP has put out a few statements on there stance and everyone of them was double talk.
I make my donations now to Fisher House

What he said
right--not wanting to co-brand with any weapons maker--they must just be a bit too slimy for the WWP--but, they'll sure take money from a gun maker.

A guy in my squad was hit midway through the deployment, through-and-through in the abdomen, took out his spleen and some intestines. He's been in hospitals since, and only got back to our company just a couple weeks ago. He said WWP took him and others to shoots and stuff where they had all kinds of handguns and long arms, "normal" and NFA, all completely free to them funded by WWP.
So, I tried to read some of the AR15.com thread. Same as every other thread over there (one or two people who know what they are talking about and a bunch of keyboard commandos.).
Fromm the WWP website.
WWP does not co-brand, create cause marketing campaigns or receive a percentage or a portion of proceeds from companies in which the product or message is sexual, political or religious in nature, or from alcohol or weapon companies.
http://www.wwphighcap.org/additional-opportunities.aspx
I'd hardly condemn the WWP as "anti 2A" for not wanting to co-brand with other companies.
Does Thunder Ranch have their knickers in a bunch because of the WWP no branding clause? Looks like a bunch of shit being flung but how much is legit and how much is sour grapes?
As far a bottles and wheat making me want to drink...I blame the plow.
