I am thinking about buying one and was curious about your impressions if you have looked at one.

To each their own I pesonaly hate them and I just don't mean the clones. The only Aug I have had the pleasure to shoot is Alans and of course it is F/A and it sucks in my opinion.
In short If I hate a F/A gun then it must really suck!!![Coffee]
That is just my opinion which of course means nothing. [Flower]

I saw this last night but just now noticed the AR-ish forward assist in the photo. I always liked AUG's "in theory", so I'm kinda curious about these.
<does quick google search or three>
Interesting - this is the same Microtech that makes the schweet knives, and apparently this clone won't take original AUG mags (maybe?)...

Hmm, says this place I've never heard of in Longmont is their CO dealer? http://www.ironridgeguns.com/
Sorry if this is all old news.

I am not familiar with the 556. A friend has/had one on order, but he hasn't received it yet.
As far as the original AUG/USR goes, I LOVE them. I have used mine in rifle competitions and usually place well. Considering I go up against all the tricked out ARs, HKs, etc. Being a bullpup design, you do not have that long barrel hanging out there, which in certain scenarios, can REALLY be an advantage.
The three things that I have heard complaints about with an AUG/USR is, the trigger, having the action right next to your ear, and reloading. There are steps you can take for the trigger, I have mine down to a fairly crisp 6lbs, (which is good enough for me) with almost no overtravel.
I don't mind the action being next to my ear, except when the course of fire mandates shooting left handed. The empties have a habit of hitting you in the face/head when doing this. As far as reloads, there is a way to do it that is as fast, if not faster, than any AR. The key, of course, is practice, practice, practice. LOL
As for the 556s. I will wait for a while. As with "most" new products, there are "usually" a few bugs to be worked out. I'll wait until they work them out. Like the reliability with certain ammo that they are experiencing now.
Doesn't look too ambi. There's something about hot brass in the ear. :)
