If you are going to SBR it, I would definitely suggest doing it on a standard 5.56 lower with a mag block, so you can run other calibers on it.

My build is...

Lower --
Dedicated DDLES 9mm Lower (Accepts Colt Pattern mags)
Standard CMMG Lower Parts Kit (minus what DDLES Pre-Installed)
PWS Buffer Tube
Troy BattleAx Stock
9mm Buffer With No Spacer
Flat Wire Spring
KNS Trigger Pins

Upper --
RRA Dedicated 9mm Upper With Gas Deflector
CMMG Ramped 9mm Bolt (So I didn't need a special hammer)
Gunfighter Charging Handle
ADCO 5" Threaded Barrel
DD Lite 4" Rail
Troy Sights
IWC Handstop
Magpul RVG

The main difference is the 9mm does not run on a gas system, so no gas block on the barrel, no gas tube and no gas key on the bolt. The bolt is also a one piece and the ejector is part of the lower. The "Key" on the bolt is only for the charging handle to grab. On a dedicated 9mm upper, there is also no hole drilled for the gas tube, and no FA since the bolt has no serrations cut.

I'll snap some pictures of the bolt/upper/lower tonight if no body has posted any by then.

This. I'm running an Oly upper with sten mags and block on SBR lower. Dedicated means you are for ever stuck in that configuration. Running different platforms off an AR lower, allows you to diversify:)

Here is my setup:

Lower: Stag Arms
Hahn mag-well block
9mm buffer
dedicated 9mm hammer
DPMS lower parts kit (minus the hammer)

Upper: Rock River 9mm complete upper (16" barrel).

This thing drives tacks.

Here is a pic of the parts needed. Hope this helps. Use a ramped 9mm bolt so won't have to switch out hammers. Add a heavy buffer and plastic shim if you want.
This is a picture of my SBR 9mm upper. Just waiting now to get my AAC 9mm TiRant out of ATFE jail. The Form 4 should be back this month, I hope.
