They've already been accessing and archiving this stuff for years. Why bother making it legal?

This allows unlimited access to anything & everything. Remember this administration campaigned in 08 on transparency and doing away with that evil stuff the R's were doing to undermine our privacy.
IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!

For fuck's sake. What part of 4A does this douchenozzle not understand? Or does he understand, he just doesn't give a shit?
Holy hell. Now the government will know I love my mother and that the weather here in Colorado is quite nice right now and that if she comes to visit me next year she should try to come in September.
Who knows what they will do with that kind of information.

Now they just have the balls to be honest about it.
It goes well beyond this already. But as of now they have to do a bunch of paperwork before they can use what they have against you. Looks like they hate paperwork and red tape too. It is unfortunate that it really is all that is holding this country together. Soon the interweb will be as biased as tv and every other medium for communication.

Here are the contact pages for both of the senators from Colorado. If as many people take the time to contact them as contacted that stupid bitch at Arlington, it could make a difference.

While this won't make me crawl under a rock in southern Arizona, it does make me wonder what companies are going to do. I know many smaller companies that use cloud based email, but work with semi-sensitive material. I work for one...but with all of the privacy agreements we put in place to protect sensitive information.
I trust the government to a certain extent when they have to follow due process, but when all of these various agencies have carte blanche access to these things I don't think it will take much time at all for someone to overstep their bounds quite rapidly. The witch hunt this might start makes McCarthy look tame, not to mention random blackmail potential..."What legislation do you want passed today Mr. Hoover?"

The patriot act allows access to anything in the name of National Security. Buzz words like terrorism, domestic or otherwise, has companies opening their "confidential" files like a hooker on blow.
