If anyone knows of any opportunities for a novice to participate in a F T/R shoot, please let me know. My son (17 y.o.) is interested in getting started and this seemed a natural first step.

Also interested in any practice settings for F T/R or F-Open shoots.

The Long Range Precision Rifle Matches at CRC are also a great learning tool. Lots of us will be there this Saturday.

This is very good news to hear , I have been hoping for an F TR shoot within driving distance for a while .

To the OP , The CRC prairie dog match is big fun for any level of shooter . Match orchestrator's are more than willing to help any novice shooters . The format makes for an interesting twist adding speed to precision . Highly recommended !

My son is 10 and shot Hoser's P-Dog match last weekend and will shoot the CRC match this Saturday. There are lots of great opportunities for new shooters to compete in the greater Front Range area. Many of these matches are great practice for the more "hard core" matches, like these: http://www.competition-dynamics.com

I've heard a little scuttlebutt around the long range matches about putting together an F-class 1000yd fun shoot among the competitors there plus anyone eles interested.Basically a match where you can use suppressors and brakes.

I spoke with the two guys that will be running the 600 yard benchrest matches in Pueblo. Turns out they are not interested in allowing any F-Class shooters or prone shooters or anything like it at their matches.

I dont like it, but I understand it.

We did have a guy that shoots our 3rd Saturday PD matches express interest in running dedicated F-Class matches. I sent him a note seeing if he would be interested in being a MD for them.
