I guess the next step is claiming that telephone poles are religious signs and have been put up by the state so tear them down. I am not an overly religious person but I still do not get exactly what they want other than to make everyone's life miserable.[Bang]

Community event with a food drive as part of it.When will the madness end ? Sign of the times I guess but still ridiculous on the part of the naysayers.

Quite vain to think that if one lone child doesn't show up, any other kid will notice. She has a choice, chose to attend or not attend.

I'm an atheist or "freethinker" (as they like to call themselves now) and I think it's a bit ridiculous as well. It isn't mandatory for her child to attend the play. And it's a friggin' PLAY. If she doesn't want her child believing in Christ, all she has to do is teach him Jesus is a ficitional character just like Charlie Brown is. If the kid wants to go, let him and if doesn't it is his choice to take the "ridicule" if it is even noticed he's not there. I was raised with religous parents and came to my own conclusion on my own, her child will do the same. We're all "freethinkers" and make our own choices what to believe and not to believe.

If they think their child will be ostricized for not attending, what do they think will happen when the kids find out they don't get to go at all and why? I suspect this child will be the target of a few beat downs.

Interesting how freethinkers have to validate themselves by being in a group with other freethinkers and when it's all said and done they really aren't freethinkers after all.

I am not religious and don't see a problem with the kids going to see a CB play at a church. Don't like it, don't go.

Wow.
Pretty sad. So Atheists/Freethinkers believe in...nothing? No gods, afterlife, ghosts, aliens, Loch Ness monster, or the G-spot?

For me, it was about personal experiences. Again for me personally... No proof of god, afterlife or ghosts. Aliens, slim possibility. Loch ness, I dunno and don't really care. But the G-spot, definitely!

I think its funny that to keep the child from being ridiculed for opting out, Let's make a federal case out of it, sue the district so NO ONE can go...

No better way to make your child a pariah than to shine a national spotlight on them as the reason no one gets to go on a field trip.

What's funny is that the leftists have hung the "negative" and "intolerant" labels on Republicans and other conservatives when liberal politics have been the overwhelmingly intolerant force for the past 20 years, especially in Hollyweird.
