We've been hiring a bit lately - experienced SAN administrators and/or software test engineers. Broomfield area.
This hasn't been updated lately. Is anyone aware of any well paying job for an experienced system architect sorta guy? Or an entry level/junior software developer position.
I know of a business in LoDo that uses an outsource IT company but arent really happy with it, but they just laid off 3 of their engineers, so I dont think they are in the market to hire...if they are, though, once I find out I'll let you know...
tsr, drop a copy of your resume to this guy. He's the contract manager for the consulting company that I work for. Mostly fed stuff, and I don't know what they might have brewing, but it's worth a shot.

On Jan 15, this year, I got cyanide poisoning at work, I've been a mechanic/welder since 8th grade, now I have to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. I'm still on workmans comp, so I'm still getting paid, but only 'til the Dr's say I've reached "maximum medical improvement". So far I have 'behavioral brain dammage", which means if I act like an asshole, I have an excuse, and a respitory disorder of "undetermined cause". The light at the end of the tunnel is the hope that the settlement I get is enough to open a gun shop. Already sent in my app for class 07 ffl.

My employer (downtown Denver) is looking for a new AV support company or contractor. We have 3-6 meeting rooms with AV systems, some complex, and our current provider fired all his good staff to save money.
This is not a job (staff) it is a sub type situation when needed but we do a fair amount of business with the old guy.
PM if you want info.

If their is anyone that doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, working for low wages and being on call 24/7 for one week out of every 8 weeks. CDOT R6 will have an ET1 position opening soon.
Traffic Signal systems and Electrical experience is a BIG PLUS. Keep checking the CDOT R6 job postings.
P.S. CDOT always has Maintenance worker positions open all over the State. I know, I know, but at least it is a job, until you can find something better.

CDOT R-6 Has an ET-1 position opening, Region-6 is the Denver Metro area. Check out the online CDOT job postings. ET-1 is Electrical Trades starting level. All start out at this level.
Do you need prior Electrical Trades experience?
SideShow Bob

Yes Electrical or Traffic Signal experience is required. And no, running RED Traffic lights do not count.
You do not need to be a licensed journeyman electrician, just have documentable experience. Check the web posting for all qualifications, just search for Colorado Dept. of Trans. job openings. I can't remember the address or I would link it.
Traffic Signal would be a big plus, since the job entails 80 percent Signal work and 20 percent Electrical work.
Good Luck.

Looks like I will have 3 new positions in my department coming up shortly.
1. Application / Development manager
Microsoft centric, VB/C# and SQL 2005-2008. Reporting tools include Cognos, SSRS, Crystal. Data warehousing is also a big push right now. Will help develop department standards, prioritize efforts, integrate systems and build the department. Will need to take a reactive department and turn it into a proactive development and integration shop.
2. Helpdesk coordinator
Will manage desktop efforts and set priorities as well as directly support users as needed. We are not real sure what this role will look like yet but the right person will be able to shape the role considerably.
3. Network/Security Administrator
This one will help design and support our LAN and WAN systems. Currently 3 large sites, 3 medium sites and 15-20 remote sites. Includes lots of CISCO routers, ASA firewalls, HP switches, some wireless, mix of OSPF and BGP with some MetroE and some MPLS plus many VPNs. Would also be looking for security experience, need to build up IDS systems and event monitoring systems for network and server platforms. This one looks like the most fun to me. It will report to me and will have some travel involved for supporting remote locations and configuring oil field networks. A strong network engineer with a desire to expand on the systems side would be a great fit.
I don't have the job descriptions yet but I have verbal for the recs. I expect to fill in the next 1-2 months. All are homed in Downtown Denver and none will be a 40hr work week but the comp packages will be competitive.
If you are interested and have the experience needed you can send me a PM, I will forward you my email and you can send a resume directly to me. This is for an Oil and Gas exploration and production company so if that bothers you… Well I guess that should not be a problem here.

What would the amount of travel be on the Net/Sec Admin?
What would the amount of travel be on the Net/Sec Admin?
Look for 1 week out of 6 or 8 on average, but will be more up front as we bring on some new areas. Typical stuff, travel for implementation then if you build it right you sit back and manage it. Generally we fly out of DIA on a Monday and return on Friday but I do drive some as well during the summer. All work is in the US, and oil is generally only found in ugly places so that is were we go.

There are a few high paying Fed jobs popping up the last couple weeks...
http://jobsearch.usajobs.gov/search.aspx?q=&where=denver%2C+co&x=0&y=0&brd=3876&vw=b&FedEmp=N&FedPub=Y
I have a senior position open. This is a Microsoft centric position, looking for Exchange 2010, SharePoint, VMware, NetApp, SAN (any vendor but Compelent is what we use), backup systems including Backup Exec, data domain and tape units.
Lots of other skills helpful including wan and lan routing, security both host based and IDS systems, Citrix admin a big plus.
This position will help set direction, think of it as more of a design/architect then admin position but we are small (700 users) so you will get your hands dirty.
Light travel only, position is downtown Denver and pay is around the 100k mark plus benefits. This is not a contract to hire, no placements.
I would expect at least 10+ years in the business with solid experience in multiple mid to large networks. Oil industry experience helps as well.
I am interviewing over the next 2 weeks so if you have the skill set and are interested PM my for my email and send in a resume.
You guys are seeing this first; I know there are some serious IT chops around this place:
IEEE Standards, in Piscataway, NJ, USA, is looking for experienced IT contractors in a Linux environment. The work varies but strong skills in one or more of these areas are required: system programming, web application development, systems administration.
The technical environment is predominantly Open Source. The human environment is collegial, and the work is interesting. Your contributions will likely be visible to the outside world and not buried within a closed corporate environment. This work may be done by a telecommuter, though some travel (infrequent) may be required.
Your resume should include experience in several of these areas:
Apache, mod_perl, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Perl, Ruby, Java, postfix, UNIX systems programming, systems administration, failover/reliability design or administration, configuration management, security administration, infrastructure monitoring.
The successful sysadmin candidate will have several years' experience administrating production services and systems. Command-line administration and scripting skills are required.
The classic "jack of all trades” admin/programmer or developer may move among projects doing task-oriented assignments or go deep on one project. A good understanding of the interactions among multiple architecture elements and protocol layers is useful as he/she designs, modifies, or administrates various elements of the infrastructure.
USENIX or O'Reilly Open Source conference attendance or training is usually relevant.
Please send your resume and required compensation to work@standards.ieee.org.
My company is currently looking for Production Support Analyst / Engineer types for our Lakewood office (6th and Union). Primarily Linux based servers.
Position is listed here (http://seeker.dice.com/jobsearch/servlet/JobSearch?op=302&dockey=xml/e/a/ea0028ca1f121e564eac8f37d98a06d5@endecaindex&source=19&FREE_TEXT=ften&rating=99) on Dice.
If you're interested please send me a resume via e-mail and I'll do what I can to get you an interview. We're going to be moving fast on these so if you've got some tech skills, it's a killer job.
We're also looking for hardcore java developers, so if you know anyone pass the word along.

I own a cabinet shop up in Woodland Park. We're busy. I need an experienced cabinet installer for some part time work. It'd be as a regular W2 employee, not a subcontractor, though that is negotiable.
No set hours, you work when there's work. When there isn't, you're on your own. Judging by our current workload, it might end up a couple days a week.
You need most of your own tools. If you need help with bigger stuff, we might be able to help.
Send me an email first if you're interested to:

Any IT guys looking for part time/ contract work? Could very well go full time after the first of the year.
Pm me. I love vets, but just plain old gun nut geeks are awesome too!
I'm seriously thinking about trying to get a second job- problem is with my current work schedule and my boss who can't afford to pay me more than 30 hrs/week at $11/hr doesn't really grasp the concept of what 30 hours a week is (but can't quit, he's my dad). Here's my dillema outside of current job which is usually M-F 9-5:
I'm trained in security- both physical, personal, and protective- from the US Army. But... whenever I talk to a security company they want to start me at unarmed (no way, no how), low pay ($8.50/hr) and usually shit hours in a shit location. I think I've earned better, no I'm not a liberal asking for shit, just saying my training has, I believe, garnered me a better security position than some entry level bullshit.
I'm even thinking about talking to Jeffco SO and asking what prerequisites I need from a legal standpoint to start my own freelance security biz (kinda like executive security- taxi with a gun). Any help from you guys would be appreciated, I can't afford groceries this week due to unforeseen circumstances.
Deliver pizza silly. Unless you don't want to make an easy $15/hr with half of it being untaxed.

have you applied with HSS? just wondering because thats where i started out here when i first moved here.. they started me at an officer/part time supervisor position with a taser or i could work at denver health as an officer and would be carrying a gun....just wondering if you applied with them because im pretty sure they start out at higher than you were saying... cant remember what it was... but with the part time supervisor/officer position i took and with all the overtime i was getting i was making almost what i make now... which is pretty good money....
so look into that.. other than that i am not sure! and sorry to hear you are in bad times but dont give up! and keep your head up! wish you the best!
Hunter, I applied there- maybe they'll call me in for an interview and I can get a job- problem is, weekends are kinda iffy right now and I really can only work about 4 hrs 3 days a week.
I tried to get a job working security for events at venues like the Filmore, Gothic and Ogden, but they said I didn't "Look the part." That would have been perfect with my work schedule since I get off at 4:30 and could be there by 5:30 or so... But no... I guess if you're 5'8", 160lbs and have .mil training they don't want you.

I'm in need of a sales job.
Background in Chemistry and recently sold chemicals and biologicals to pharma and biotech.
But that's a pretty weak industry here in CO, so pickings have been slim.
Don't necessarily need to stay in the chemicals field.

I thought I would put this out there. My dad is looking to move out here from Wisconsin. He has done a lot of things (forklift driver, foundry work, crane operator, security, truck driver Class B and A)
He drove Class B for years and loved it. Decided to get a Class A, and his boss had a brain Anyurism (sp?) and the company kinda went downhill from there. He had his CDL now but no experience. Has been working as a security officer at a hospital ever since. I am afraid it is going to kill him so.
My dad is the hardest working man I know, so I thought I would throw this out there and maybe a company out there is looking for a long term guy. or I could get a couple leads to pass on to him. I also have a copy of his resume that he gave me as well.

My company is getting ready to hire a couple more folks for part time work, with likely close to 40 hours/week for the summer and fall. Ideal job for college student or graduating high schooler (must be 18+) with outstanding people skills and and interest in shooting.
If you know someone who is looking in the Monument/Springs area who may be a good fit, PM me and I'll send some more information.
Thanks!
Part time groundskeeper. Mowing and spraying mostly. Flexible schedule. April ish thru Oct ish for sure but we usually have winter projects.
Evans. Pay sucks. No felonies.
Inquiries about beer money can be sent via pm.

WTF is wrong with people? That guy has only assured himself of a life of Hell. But the Democrats will make sure he's taken care of and gets his fair share. That WE will pay for.

This ain't it, maybe. I don't look too hard at this but if you smell like shit and can't keep a civil tongue, no thanks. Someone can have tattoos and piercings, long hair, whatever and still be clean and presentable. But, you gotta know how to fix a motorcycle right the first time.

I need a change FAST. Something came up and I'm looking for a job ASAP. Please keep me in mind. I have a Bachelor's Degree in International Business, fluent in Spanish, experience with admin/records, as well as small business management (running a martial arts school). Too bad none of you are famous enough to need a full time bodyguard.... [Coffee]
I thought Lex Luthor was already filthy rich? [Coffee]
