With all the depressing talk about UN takovers, awb, good or not good shoots, and Obama, I figured that I would start a thread on beer.

What's your favorite beer?

My favorite here lately has been Ranger Pale Ale..

Support local Canadian business. Coors sold out to Molsom back when Pete Coors (which I loved his stance on guns) sold out before running for the senate.

To the OP. One of the best beers that I had was in Germany and it was called Budwieser. But its not the same that they sell everywhere. Its only sold in the Chec Rebublic.
Locally go for some micro brew or even brew your own. It will blow the shit out of anything that you get in the store.

About time we had a beer thread around here.

My personal favorite is Dogfish Head Santo Palo Marron.
Followed closely by some microbrew with some pistols on the front, and Great Divide Claymore Scotch Ale.

Funny, I was hanging with a friend after work yesterday and he asked me what my favorite brew was.

Really it depends. Right now, I'm really digging Newcastle on tap. Get a kegorator and your tastes change a lot. Of course Newcastle bottles are good too, but on tap in a chilled glass...very good.

Honestly though, good old fashioned PBR on tap is a fine "everyday" beer, especially for the price.

Sawtooth is another that I often get for the kegorator for BBQ's and stuff. Yummy.

Who the hell am I kidding......there are so many good beers out there. No way I can pick "ONE" except the "free and cold" ones others have mentioned.

Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat out of Kansas City. A lot of the liquor stores in the Denver area started carrying Boulevard (DaveCo Liquor out on I-25 and 164th had lots and several other types of Boulevard too). The only way to serve it is with a slice of lemon. If you try it, you MUST have the lemon! It's kind of like an orange in Blue Moon, but is quite different and really brings out the true flavors of the beer. Sadly, I can't get it down here in New Mexico, so I usually get something similar or a seasonal beer. IPA's are always an excellent choice.

Was just about to post that picture "What your Beer Style Says About You".. Then I realized I got that from this site in the Funny Pictures Thread (pg463). lol

The standard "go to" beer is Dales Pale Ale from Oskar Blues or Cuthroat Porter from Odell's.

Belgian aged Yeti from Great Divide or Old Rasputin from Northcost if an Imperial Stout is in order.

This time of year the holiday ales are a treat if that is your thing. Try Old Jubilation from Avery or Hibernation from Great Divide.

I dont always drink beer, but when I do I prefer a pilsner to a lager. An ice cold bud light with lime is really nice on a warm day or by the campfire. we really dont drink that much at all. with four kids you kind of put the brakes on any hard partying.

I prefer vodka or tequila, I eat a lot of mexican food (grew up with a family mexican restaurant literally next door) so margaritas are a favorite.

Lagunitas Lil Sumpin' Sumpin' is my current favorite. I might have a lil bias toward Lagunitas since my sister owns a share of the company. :)

If I want something "lighter" I usually drink 5 Barrel Pale ale, but it might be because it's easier to carry in 12 pack form.

Followed closely by some microbrew...Great Divide Claymore Scotch Ale.

One of my favorites as well. My current favorite is Dry Dock's Apricot Blonde Ale. Actually anything by Dry Dock but the Apricot is my favorite. Mmmm...beer.

My job bartending at one of those stupid yuppie burger joints in the DU area ruined me on cheap beer. I wish I still liked Coors and Bud...it would make my nights out way the hell cheaper.

Course, I drink a lot more root beer than real beer. I've even been known to trade gun stuff for a root beer.

.

I drank this in Germany and Czech Rep.. Great beer. I just got back from O'Dells with 2 growlers of "fresh" beer. The Snowrider is a Wheat IPA and it's great. They have a Smoked Pumpkin on at the moment also called "Oh my gourde". I'd say O'Dells is my favorite FoCo brewery, but I'm also a big fan of DFH 120 min IPA, SKa's Modus Hoperandi, anything from Hill-Farmstead in VT, and Heady Topper from the Alchemist. Firestone makes a couple great beers as well. After a recent trip to Montreal, I fell in love with everything from Unibrouoe. All Belgian influenced beers.

PBR is a great low dollar beer. It always freaks me out a little when I see served gratis at places like art galleries and the like. I think it can be said that there is a time and place for every beer. PBR reminds me of fishing and campfires. For those of you that spent time in Germany, ever try any of the Alts from Dusseldorf? Diebels was my favorite. Since I was stationed just North of Aachen, Bitburger stubbies were the most prevelent. +1 for the Paulaner Hefe. Oktoberfest in Munich is a must see for anybody that loves beer. Pics to follow.
