View Full Version : UN recognizes Palistine

I received this email just a bit ago:

The United Nations has voted to recognize Palestine.

They have decided to violate international law and numerous peace agreements.

The terrorist-led Palestine now has "non-member observer state" status at the U.N.

With this vote, the U.N. has endorsed a divided Jerusalem and an Israel with indefensible borders. Even more alarming, it opens the door for more false war crimes trials against Israeli citizens.

Two years ago, I stood before the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in defense of Israel and two soldiers who were falsely accused of war crimes. We successfully got the ICC to dismiss those false charges, in part because Palestine was not a state as recognized by the U.N.

We are continuing to defend Israel, but the road will be more difficult. We need your support now more than ever.

Jay Sekulow
ACLJ Chief Counsel

P.S. The U.N. alone cannot divide Jerusalem, but they have now endorsed the Palestinian Authority's plan to do so. We must keep up our legal fight for Israel.

People are losing their damn minds. I think in 2016 getting out of the UN should be up there on the priorities list. I would love nothing more than to see the UN headquarters reduced to rubble as we turned in our resignation letter. I may or may not take a leak on the ashes as well. I just don't know...I don't know if there will be that kind of time.

Seriously, don't ever let me be elected president- I would disband, and criminalize the UN... good for nothing. Welcome to the beginning of the end.

If I had my way we'd end our membership in the UN, kick all UN personnel out of the United States, demolish the UN headquarters in NYC, salt the earth, put 10 foot razor wire fence around the lot and never allow anything to ever be built or grow there ever again.

Nah, let's turn the site into something that the UN would hate more than anything...a firearms depot.

Yes, firing rockets indiscriminately at population center, sending 'freedom' fighters to blow him/herself up in civilian bus terminals, or using their own children as shield and propaganda are legitimate actions by a nation. [Mad]

[Mad]That's Hamas/PLO; not the Palestinian people that have lived on that very same land for 2000+ years. Please get your hate straight.

Indeed, not like those people in Haganah, Lehi and Irgun.

Palestine is a "non-member" state, same as the Vatican. As such, Palestine needs a sponsor member state to bring any actions to the floor of the council.

And yes, Israel was created by the UN in 1948 after the Ottomans and British had their fun there ( I won't go past 19th century history, its convoluted)...

A "nonmember observer state" to be exact. Doesn't mean much in the end.

Genius, the Palestinian people have no voice in the palestian so called govt. UN recognizes PLO and Hamas as the default govt. In fact, who is the Palestinian ambassador to un again? That's right a High ranking PLO. Get your fact straight.

Anything that's global regulation can burn to the ground as far as I'm concerned. Since this thread is about the UN...people are probably going to talk about the UN. Since there was no mention of the WTO...you might not want to be surprised when nobody brings it up.

I can't help it...I can't help but feed this attention whore...it feels too good to destroy him.

The WTO already supersedes US law. It is an ACTUAL issue with an unelected body taking away US sovereign rights. But you will never hear that in the corporate news. The UN is toothless, the WTO is real and doing really bad things right now.

I am just saying that a lot of what you guys hate about the UN is happening in a far worse way with the WTO. I figured you might be interested to learn about that and check into it.

I'm not disagreeing with you regarding the WTO, but I agree with above, they are two different entities. One tries to control the world politically, and the other monetarily.. Wait, is there a difference?

This is just a stepping stone to supporting them. They have tried this before but have waited for Obummer to get reelected to try again, knowing the USA would not veto it.

I feel for Palestine, I do..... but the path they have gone down makes it hard for me to sympathize, they have become terrorists. We threaten to stop supplying Israels AF with spare parts, I'm sure they have a stock pile, and other countries weapons. After WW2 and Hitler the Jews swore they would never allow this to happen again, they are a battle hardened people. Some of the most awesome soldiers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting or training with were from Israel.

The only reason the middle east has the balls to mess with the Jew's is because they count on the UN super powers to restrict them. Unfortunately I think that leash is about to break.... and IMO the world has two choices.... stand by as Israel flattens the middle east and wipes the muslims off of the face of the earth (my preferred choice)... or begin WW3.

So in effect, you'd advocate them exterminating a group of people......

"What does this have to do with anything? It doesn't make sense!" [Roll1]
And to anyone who doesn't know, the Jews were cast out and dispersed over 2200 years ago, before then, Israel was their rightful homeland... historically speaking, the 3 major religions made claim to Jerusalem, but the Jews were there first. If that means anything to anyone these days.

There's a limit to how far that goes. If some Indian shows up at my house asking for the title he ain't gonna get it and he has a much more recent claim.

Some Jews had remained there and resettlement really took off in the last part of the 19th century. The first armed Jewish groups formed before WWI to fight Arab violence.

Lots and lots of people have been kicked out of their homes in the 20th century and I'm not sure why the Palestinians are so damned special. They could have gotten a good deal in 1948 and rejected it and have rejected every compromise since. They want it all.

I think one reason for their visibility is an ugly old hatred. Yesterday I linked to an article by Jeffrey Goldberg. Here's a quote from him about this:

'*"Triple-standard," and not double-standard, because there are, in fact, three standards by which the nations of the world are judged; dictatorships are judged by a lenient standard; the U.S., and its European allies, are judged by a harsher standard, and Israel is judged by the harshest standard of all.'

I would.

Nobody forces Iran and its proxies to do what they do. Nobody forces the Palestinians to do what they do. As I said, I can feel for them, but their greed and actions deserve no mercy.

Israel (the Jews)l as a people have endured for thousands of years, and in the last century especially. A war between Israel and the middle east is inevitable and its going to be ugly.

There is plenty of Muslims who condemn these actions, and the majority of them do not live in the Middle East (a lot do though)..... so its not exterminating a group of people, its exterminating a terrorist region that does not know how to play nice.

I see the point you are trying to make, but that is a completely different situation.

Native Americans have been paid back 10-fold.

Its called compromise, something those terrorist nations are incapable of.

I could give 10,000 shits if their uninformed masses agree with me.

I grew up around Colfax, Nisqually, Muckleshoot, ect reservations and worked with many of them while in the Army.

We have helped them with giving personal reservations, Casino rights, pumping millions upon millions into their economy. We have helped them more than any other people. Its like saying Blacks haven't been paid back, and the Libitards successful plan at demonizing the right. Maybe someone should remind them who fought for their rights. It wasn't the libitards.

Its people that want to pull the bullshit racist cards, and the welfare babies/takers.... they will never feel "paid back"... EVER

That's a very ignorant statement right there... Your making a comparison between immigration and forced relocation. The Russians have a home land, the Britons have a homeland, the Jews were forced out of their homeland and after thousands of years of persecution and hostility finally have a homeland. There is a big difference between migratory immigration (like with GB and the US) and choosing to live somewhere and having Romans, Turks, and Muslims invade and force you into the wind.
