It never hurts to ask but do keep in mind that there is a similar petition requesting that Tetrahydrocannabinols be removed from the Schedule I drugs list. Granting either of of these petitions would open a HUUUUUGE can of worms within Federal Statutes.

I do understand some of the fears, but I'm trying to understand how a 10 inch barreled rifle is more dangerous than a 16 inch barrel?
and suppressors in Europe are being sold in the hearing protection isle at a sports store...
sad and weird is all I can say... I hate the 6 month wait...[blah-blah][Bang]
I wholeheartedly agree with you on this topic!
...and don't even get me started on the Federal Ban of automatic knives. [facepalm]

That's why they are banned... they must be clip fed if they are automatic.

I don't know the allowed timeframe to meet the min number of signatures but when I went to the listed site, it said that the petition had expired for lack of signatures.
The white house petitions are a publicity gimmick and should be regarded as such . The thing to remember here is that the NFA was created to DISCOURAGE ownership . At the time it was created the 200 dollar stamp was anywhere from 400% on up of the cost of the item . It's not even remotely realistic to think the government is going to make it easier and applying rational thought to the process is a foreign concept to the bureaucracy .

I've read about this and came across it a few times... thank God the price didn't go up with time. I guess my impatience has gotten the best of me at times and this is probably one of'em examples, but I have been doing really good so far [Coffee]
