I recently bought my wife a Mossberg 500 from Bud's, and when my wife went to pick it up from the FFL, It was all scratched to shit. It was chipped and scratched down to the bare metal. Whatever dumbass that packaged it stapled some cardboard together to make a box, leaving the staples exposed on the other side of the cardboard. She immediately called them back and returned it, so we'll see how this plays out. The FFL said that he sees that alot with firearms purchased from Bud's. Just a bit of warning for your consideration.[Bang]

Yeah. Don't Mossberg's come in their own factory cardboard box? I wonder why they would put it into a different box, unless the original box got damaged or destroyed in the warehouse or something. That would also explain the super beat to hell finish, I guess. Either way, they shipped us a scratched up, chipped up, "new" gun.

As big as they are I think kinks are to be expected.

What sickens me is their new auction system. Similiar to QUIbids and such, I in my gut feel it should be illegal or regulated as it's almost gambling. Just seems like theft how much money they make on penny auctions.

Was watching them sell $800 1911's for $50, which once the math is done, means they are making $3,500 on that gun. They make less on some things and I've seen a few oddball things sell for a loss. (Thumbhole stock shotgun) I hate to imagine having yourself $150 in bids, end up running vs someone else like one of those "$50" 1911's and finally end up losing it all for nothing. With deep pockets especially paired with the auction butler I'm sure you have people out there semi proffesionally computer bidding. Kind of like there were for other penny auction sites.

Businesses screw up occasionally. Now you'll find out how good a business they really are.

My 3 purchases from the have all been fine.

I hope it goes well.

Yeah we'll see how Bud's handles this. Thier handling of the issue will determine whether or not I do business with them again in the future.

Must have been a floor model or something where they lost the box. All my buds purchases came new in original packaging.

I think Bud's is mostly an online seller, in that they are tied in with the distribution warehouses used by most gun shops. Bud's inventory is actually the inventory at these warehouses, and when you order from Bud's, in most cases they never even see the gun themselves, it's shipped direct from the distributor. I know they have some from their actual shop though.

Yep, no problems with Bud's here either. I'm betting they take care of you.

I bought my first gun for Buds last year and other then them sitting on my money for a week before shipping it was ok. But within a few month they had gone to complete shit. The reviews of that place went from good to crap almost overnight.

I've placed orders with them in June and October this year, items were shipped the next day, received 4 days later. They were well packaged and in excellent condition.

Last Monday (11/19), I placed an order at 5am, thinking they'd get the order shipped out that day or the next. It didn't ship until this Tuesday, which seemed to take forever. Item was still in excellent condition, but I never even received a "your item shipped" email with tracking number. I had to get on the website daily to look at the order status. A little disappointed it took so long for them to ship this time, but it could have been due to Thanksgiving and people placing more orders for Christmas.

On the flip side, two days after I placed my order (Savage Mark II-FV at $177) the price jumped up to $188. Glad I purchased it when I did!

I ordered a Mossberg from Bud's a few years back. Same thing happened. I un-boxed it at the FFL Dealer and told him that this was not okay. I had to pay to ship it back and then it was over a month before my replacement barrel came back. I was less than impressed but at least they took care of it.
