I just saw something on the Subguns forums that may interest anybody that is thinking of doing a Form 1 with a trust.

You can do a 'Also Known As' with a trust. The AKA can be a shortened version of your Trust name. Then you can use the AKA for your engraving instead of the full Trust name. That would be very helpful if your trust name has 41 characters in it like my Trust name has.

The AKA has to be written into the trust documents. I'm going to check into amending my trust to do this. It may be worth checking with your lawyer on this.

The person that posted the information on the Subguns says he has had a Form 1 approved with the AKA.

That is really convenient. My trust name is fairly long, so my engravings take up a lot of space.

For people setting up a trust, and not saddled already with something like the "The Farnsworth Theodore Smithington Revocable Trust", your trust should start with the something like 'This revocable trust, known as "FTS TRUST"...' to keep it short.
