I've got the itch to buy something and the Kriss has grabbed my attention. Not really sure why other then cool factor. I like the carbine version but this is a gun born to be SBR, but I don't have the patience. So my thought is get the pistol and eventually file the paperwork to turn the pistol into a true SBR through Kriss.

Has anyone ever fired one, specifically the pistol version? I saw Haus of Guns review on the carbine version but I wonder how the pistol version and a sling would feel to fire?

So basically I'm looking to either be talked into/or out of "pulling the trigger"

I tried, but uncle Jim called me an idiot for wanting one.

Not an Idiot. . Considering your long range goals, just something that could wait till after you get up & running. Nothing wrong with the SBR version, however that investment can be realized after other projects are in motion.
Yeah i know, coming from me (Mr. Impulse buyer) it sounds like a load of crap. My friend, only the best intentions, besides since you changed your mind i put a deposit on the one you looked at with Alan :) jk!

Naw man.. You saved me a couple grand on that gun plus ammo. The fact that I dont shoot any .45 should've killed that dream. So not to completely derail this thread --

An old friend of mine got one pistol and a carbine when they hit the civilian market. Nobody knows what the hell he was thinking. Overall they were neat but nowhere near neat enough for how much they cost. After I moved I heard one of them was running into a bunch of problems but don't know much more than that. I wish I had more info. I'm guessing it was caused by the fact that the action is really over-engineered. It makes for a smooth shooting 45 carbine but opens it up to a bunch of potential malfunctions. Lots of moving parts. It's also super bulky and the trigger wasn't so great either. If you're flush with cash and want a new toy then it's an option but honestly I'd pass.

Edit: The pistol version was also very awkward to hold and shoot. We used a sling to get some tension holding it out but our arms got tired pretty quick.

The Shootist in Englewood used to have one for rent. You might call them and see if they still have it available.

Glad I slept on this one. I think MGT has one to at least hold. I still got money burning a hole in my pocket but I just haven't found something that flips the must have it switch.

My podiatrist told me he bought a Kriss carbine, but I've never heard his opinion of it. Sure surprised me, didn't even know he was a gun guy.
