So I read in a book that "self-vulcanizing" (or self-fusing as I found it named) tape can be used to make a hogue-type grip. I tried it this weekend on a keltec .32 and it works wonderfully so far. and it only took about a foot of tape (i got the "F4" tape on amazon, it's been great working on wiring an old car) and much cheaper than hogue. Just wanted to share the love.
I still cut a rubber inner tube mountain bike tire and use that as a grip. Cheap and a old tire can last years, and its free if you get a flat on a bike.

Ahh yes good idea. I use those for attaching pressure switches 4 lights on quad rails... way better than velcro. good thinking.
