Looking for any ideas for a Christmas present for the wife this year and thought more than just myself could benefit from this idea thread.

My wife already has an iPad, doesn't do much jewelry, and I'm not into buying her cloths or shoes. I'm thinking about buying her a class for a DSLR camera class along with a new wide angle lense for the rebel t3i. She wants to learn more about the camera and I think those lenses are sweet.

anyone have better? Thanks for the help.

Send her to the class. Think how nice your guns & accessories will look when posted in the Trading post section.

Does she already have a 50mm lens? My wife bugged me for a 'nifty fifty' (her phrase) for a while before she got it.

Front runners so far in order..... Divorce papers, vac cleaner, sammich maker.

She doesn't have a 50mm. Jim makes an excellent point too although it didn't make me laugh as much as those listed above.

every photographer that I've spoken with (~20 semi-pro/serious amateurs) has a fast 50mm no zoom lens.

The dslr class is a good idea also.

I was going to suggest something battery operated and washable, then thought better just in case the OP would ask what i meant by it:)

YOU Can Wash them? yep

If you go to Mike's Camera and get the lens there, you might be able to get the class for free. They have given me several class certificates for free.
They are great in there as well.

Groupon has a deal on DSLR class. And they have a couple different deals. But I think the deal expires at midnight.

The current groupon deal for Colorado Springs right now is an AR tactical course for 70 bucks:

$70 for a basic AR-15 rifle tactical course for all levels of rifle-handlers including beginners (a $140 value)
Both courses require an additional range fee of $15 per student, and groups of five or more can rent weapons onsite for $75 per student. Courses include eye and ear protection, 10 targets, and bottled water. Each course includes a certificate of completion at it's conclusion.

Probably slightly a little bit NSFW:

I told my wife I wanted THIS (http://www.groupon.com/deals/femme-fatale-fitness-denver-1?p=1&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&sid=8f973d05-1066-48c0-8feb-faccedcaf872&division=denver&user=88d8121f7cedc7c7274bd69496af17e5d154ce86f038b aab7af3b99dd8ccb366&date=20121203&s=body&c=deal_button&d=deal-page&utm_campaign=femme-fatale-fitness-denver-1) for Christmas. I opted for the "Lap Dance" option. I even used the old "look how much you'll save" trick. Judging by her reaction it's not looking like a happy holiday season.
