Seems to me there are a lot of valid issues addressed.

Repost.

Bethlehem, PA??? That is the best/biggest department ABC News could find to work with them on a national story? Really???

Most of the US wanders about in a permanent state ignorant bliss. I'm glad to have served with men an women who help provide the safety necessary for that ignorance.

For most of the world, Life is short, cruel, and unforgiving.

Be safe.

As usual, mass media has an outcome in mind and sets out to build a story to that outcome.

i thought it was pretty interesting i would have liked to see what an actual ccw holder with his rig and not that goofy holster could have done

No, there would be no story if a trained, experienced, responsible CCW holder was involved... they had to find people who don't prepare to defend themselves... [facepalm]

It's been pointed out before, but the "active shooter" appears to know exactly where the "armed citizen" is and targets them immediately after he shoots the instructor.

I watched this a while back and didn't re-watch it this time. From memory I believe they set up all the scenarios as quick draw type of events. IMHO, it usually doesn't go down like the wild wild west.
For instance (from memory) the classroom shooting, they sat the test subject down in the front row, middle. After the attacker shoots the teacher, he then targets the only person with a gun, knowing he is the only person with the gun (so that he could make him realize that he was helpless even with a gun).
I don't carry a gun because I think it is a magic shield that protects me. If a situation like that occurs, and I'm next on the guys list, chances are I'm not going to have time to outdraw, while seated, a person who already has their gun out. My time is my time.
I (and my wife) carry because it gives us a CHANCE to defend ourselves vs just being a helpless victim.
Also, I don't sit in the middle of the classroom. When I go the restaurant I prefer a table in the back. When I sit down, I face the door.
Carrying a weapon creates a mindset of knowing your surroundings, sizing up the environment, NOT being helpless victim, and feeling secure in the knowledge that I have done everything I can do to protect myself and my loved ones (but also knowing....shit happens...)

I hated that video and I didn't watch it today so I wouldn't ruin my day.

I think I would like to puke! Propaganda presented as news......

The biggest flaw is they send in a highly trained person to be the attacker and he knows who to target.

All said, having a firearm with little training is still better than no firearm.

It's called "getting a handful of everything"- and is very common with people, even heavily trained people, who are not used to drawing their pistol out from under a cover garment.

Yeah, I would have a trouble taking out of my pistol from a shirt that nearly goes down to the knee.

The only way they could have made this more ridiculously slanted is by putting the CCW guy in a snowmobile suit and mittens.

Bottom line is still the same, the folks with guns will have much better chance fighting back compare to the non armed.

IMO, they were doomed from the start by wearing gloves. NFW will I ever try to handle a gun of any kind with gloves on. Gloves are to keep my hands/fingers warm, I refuse to use them for anything else, except welding.

Bets on whether they would have broadcast this if one of their test subjects had center punched the "active shooter" before he managed to get a shot off?

Nope. Wouldn't meet their "news" agenda if that happened.

I see some flaws with this. First of all, It is a well known fact NBC, ABC, and CBS have political bias when it comes to firearms ownership and the 2nd amendment. This video is nothing more than an attack on an individual right to self defense. This is propaganda used to try to discredit people who carry a firearms for self defense.

Also, Those kids might as well have had some winter gloves on along with a motorcycle helmet.

I saw this on (60 Minutes?) when it came out. This was so set up to Fail by the producers. First, they get some airsoft kiddie as a test subject w/ little training or practice. Second, they saddle the guy with heavy thick gloves and a helmet, both hindering his manual dexterity and vision (not to mention and ill positioned holster and an oversized t-shirt). Third, they put him literally "front and center" so he will be one of the first targets of the shooter.

This was a hit piece by the east coast media against CCW. F them!

I like the guy that supposedly had a lot of gun experience, he just did not have enough to check the ammo in the gun. It is obvious they are practice rounds so if he knew so much why did he not know this? Or why did he not check the gun? Either way he obviously did not now crap.

Utter failure as news.

Put the CCW student in apace unknown to the assaulter. That wouldn't be news, though, because it would be truthful and accurate.
