Need some help. My wife and I have rented and lived here in Wheat Ridge for 10 years now. In the same duplex. Our land lady has just given us notice we need to get out as she is giving our side to her daughter and kids. My wife and I are both retired now and on a fixed income. We need a place to live. Another duplex, small house or even a mobile home. We can handle $800 to $900 a month with no problem. My wife has Alzheimer's and I have a back full of rods and screws so only a single level would be the best for us. We would like something with a washer and dryer hook up too. I can still maintain a yard and I have a snow blower so up keep isn't a problem. I also have 2 sons in their 30's and 40's that live in the Denver area so if I need the help they are there.

We need to be out of here by the end of January. If anyone has a rental or knows someone with a rental that will work for us please let us know. ASAP I hate having to ask for help like this but the older you get it seems that it's ok to ask.

My Best, Jess jlazyh47@gmail.com

Email sent on a denver property that will be available soon. Best of luck to you.

In addition to the email: The house is raised ranch style. There are 3 steps on the front and and 1 step on the back entrance.

Steps going in and out won't be any problem, and thanks for the heads up.

Hey Jess, depending on schedule, I can help ya as well. How many rooms of furniture do you have to move?

Me too. I can't lift diddly, but I've got a 2wd Silverado that sits low, so things don't have to be lifted as high as with a 4wd. Put me down for a truck and a driver.

Sent you an e-mail with a phone # about a place that's in your price range. It's a rent to own I believe. GL

You 1st pay $1500 and sometimes up as a down payment. Then part of a very low rent goes towards the pay off amount. The owner carries the note. If you default you lose your down payment. It is a great way for people who can't get a bank loan to buy a home.

My God what I wouldn't give to move and buy my own home.

Oh yeah, my truck has a trailer hitch w/light hookup, and I also have a big, heavy-duty appliance hand truck, the kind with a wheeled support carriage on the back that drops down, so you don't have to wrestle the fridge/freezer/whatever. You just rock it back onto the carriage and wheel the whole thing wherever you need it. It's awesome for moving big, heavy shit.

Careful, I know way too many 'rent to own' landlords who intentionally pick bad credit tenants due to the very high default rate. In short, they'll keep the downpayment and the escrow on default OR when the purchase deadline due, the tenant(s) are still not qualified for a loan. They 'recycle' tenants every year or so and get to pocket larger sum of $ compare to straight rental income.
