But Uncle Nasty was fired today from KBPI. It sounds like it was a part of Clear Channel's corporate cleaning house day process, which makes it that much worse. Uncle Nasty WAS KBPI, and for some reason the big wigs thought that KBPI could survive without him. They are sadly mistaken.
All I can say is HAIL NASTY! Hopefully another hard rock station pops up immediately and Uncle Nasty gets a job there. He always made BPI awesome to listen to.
[AR15]Clear Channel can suck it!!!!!![M2]

I hope he goes to satellite radio. FM, at least for music, is dead.
Yeah I saw this earlier- a friend posted it to facebook and it's true, Uncle Nasty was KBPI... Kinda screwed up.

That would actually finally get me to put satellite radio in my car. He's just a damn good DJ and deserves to have a great job in radio.

Clear Channel Ruined Music..
Not surprised they are trying to complete the task.
I've stoped listenign to music radio .. 103.1 comedy is all I play anymore .. which has cut my road rage to almost nil. hard to get mad while laughing at jokes!

I am so glad I found that station too. Either that or 104.3 is all that is going to be on my radio from now on.

I am going to date myself a little. [blaster][rockon] But KBPI will always be 105.9 and 106.7 will always be KAZY since it was 93 when I moved to the springs. I still have an album that KAZY put out of local bands. http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/Picture572Medium.jpg
I have a longer memory than most. When KBPI was on 105.9, I remember going to Bangles (a club down in Glendale, down the street from Shotgun Willy's), running into Greg Stone aka Uncle Nasty, and watching him get so hammered that he puked in the tip jar at the bar upstairs. Not more than a couple of years after that, Clear Channel bought KBPI and KAZY, and turned KBPI into Alice. Nasty was put on MORNINGS and obviously hated it. He pretty much went off the deep end, playing Slayer at 0530, dissing one of their advertisers, etc. He ended up in San Jose for a couple of years, then came back to Denver and back to work for Clear Channel. He'll do ok.
I don't listen to radio anymore, but when I do it's 98.5... [Coffee]

I got sick of the same 15-20 songs played on every clear channel station ( only difference being what genre they are playing but you only hear the same 15-20 songs in that genre)
Did the country music thing for a while .. it was nice cuz it was fresh and I didn't hear it as often with work I do ( clubs and concerts) but that got boring ...
then I found the comedy ... hell sometimes I get to where I'm going and sit in the car for a few extra mins to let whatever comedy routine is going finish LOL

I haven't thought about that since I was listening to this before School (Jr High).

I stopped liking KBPI once I graduated high school. I never liked Willy B or Uncle Nasty. Clear Channel does suck though.

I always appreciated Nasty's appreciation for firearms. He wasn't shy about the 2nd amendment.

Neither is Willie. He was very outspoken about the 2A and how Americans need it post Aurora theatre shootings.

I remember both KAZY and KBPI. KBPI always seemed the hair band rock station where KAZY was Zeppelin, Yes and such, listened to them primarily.
Played hockey with Roger of Dean & Roger fame, he got Greg started playing IIRC.
Listened to BPI intermittently but stopped listening to Nasty when Matt Knead became his sidekick. That guy is a total D-Bag.
Agreed, Clear Channel is not doing any favors to the Denver market. Shows their class with the timing of this move as well.
Merry Christmas Greg
I have 100+ gigs of music.. Who the f listens to the radio anymore? Why do I need to hear some mouthbreather talk when all I want to hear is music.

I remember those days as well. Dean & Roger they got themselves in trouble a few times. Willy B was on KAZY and KBPI was on the more popular one. 105.9 & 106.7 then all the rock went to KBPI. That was like '92 (shows you how old I am )
I liked Uncle Nasty I never liked Willie that much, he is annoying and his co-hosts.

Apparently late to the party, but I met Nasty at a couple concerts this past year, and seemed like he enjoyed what he was doing and was good at it. Not to mention he was very community minded. I am curious why they fired him, if there was a statement issued.

he is on the bear 107. something.
nasty many years ago was doing this chick i knew, weird couple.
Get the Led out was the last time i listened to either one of those stations. 93.3 wasn't the POINT but a cool little station out of ft collins broadcasting above a co-op food store. How's that for dating yourself. Way before Lewis & mouthwash appeared on the scene.

I even remember when 93.3 KTCL was in Ft Collins. It was next to a guitar store.I think it was Appleway Music.

Yep KTCL. Mary Moses and Dawn are now on 88.9 KRFC another small local ft fun station, IF you can put some of their politics to the side.
Everyone should see if they can get 103.9 rocky the rockies out of Severance.
I still have an old 105.9 KBPI Rocker tee-shirt. It's cool!

Read it on facespace this morning. Ill be gone for the next year. Im not even sure I want to listen to radio when I come back. Wasnt a huge fan of willie b but nasty was awesome. I guess Ill have to starrt trying to get the severence station or 94.3 out of the springs.
I was sad to discover my channel 107.1 went from kinda electric/dance/house whatever to now it's Jack? All random 80's music. :( : ( Going to have to just build up some songs and go back to using the mp3. I'm just really terrible about remembering and finding the songs I like.

Even though it's not quite my cup of tea that's one of the only FM radio stations I listen to. KS1075 is #1 on my presets and 106.7 was the second (mostly because I start at the top and work down to set presets) and I bounced between those two when I listened to the radio and that isn't very often. Now, with this... I doubt I will listen to radio very much at all anymore. Reason: laziness. When I jump in my vehicle sometimes I just switch it to the radio and I know I can bounce between stations when a shitty song comes on until it's nothing but shitty songs and then I switch to bluetooth MP3 streaming which is what I usually do anyway. Now that I don't have KBPI to listen to I doubt I will even switch it to FM because I know the first shitty song I will have to switch to MP3 streaming anyway. Might as well just start out with that and make my life easier. lol
I digress.
Hail Nasty!

I've listened to my share of 105.9/106.7 over the years. Uncle Nasty, eh, I can take him or leave him. If he came to my gate during TEOTWAWKI, I wouldn't let him in...

Don't listen to KBPI, but Willy B is a genuinely cool guy. He frequents my bank and is always polite and funny. Seems like a decent individual.

Gonna agree that FM radio is dead - I have had satellite for 6 years now, and never listen to FM unless I am in my wife's car. Before satellite I was listening to 106.7 quite a bit and liked Uncle Nasty's show.
I'd like to thank those who mentioned 103.1 - I can listen to comedy much more readily than the music / commercials mix you have to put up with otherwise, where I don't like half the music (on any variety of stations I may have programmed in) and all of the commercials. 103.1 has commercials, but seems like only 1 per "break". They keep it moving much better than 2 songs followed by several minutes of commercials. As I was turning on to the dirt road to CRC, it suddenly turned into a much more powerful country station, and I found out that Pandora has several comedy channels, too. Been getting lots of laugh exercise today and definitely appreciate the difference.

Yeah, driving back from Colorado Springs is...interesting with 103.1. It doesn't get solid to comedy until well south of Castle Rock.

Folks say they don't like "Clear Channel" but 850 KOA is cool in my book. Rosen, Broncos, Buffs, etc. AM is another story though.
Well that sucks...oh well I prefer listening to music and not the hosts. One more reason for satellite, ipods, and cd's
