i picked up a wooden barrel musket from an older gentleman yesterday at his house while going over some pricing on another gun he has in our shop. There are two markings on it that I can see: a US stamp on the top of the butt plate, and an I or L before the trigger guard. Appears to be a brass receiver and so on. Two bands and what look likes a 58 caliber bore? Any thoughts? Trying to figure out if its worth anything for this guy.
Thank y'all!

I would guess it is a prop gun. If you can tie it to a movie the value may increase. Looks like a great wall hanger to me. It may be possible to make operational again. I have an 1863 springfield from the last collection I bought that needs parts. Parts are readily available. Both repro and original. My smith is giving my springfield and nice restoration.
