Hi Folks,

i planed to change my USGI walnut stock on my M1A loaded with a Troy MCS or better the SAGE EBR stock. Has anyone ever mounted one of those stocks to an M1A or M14 or has any experience?

I have a medium weight barrel on my M1A so i am not really sure if the SAGE EBR will fit though the op rod guide has to be swapped with the replacement op rod guide from SAGE.

I like both but it seems to me the only way to get a ACOG mounted is to take Troy (though looks more heavy than the SAGE to me [UZI])

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help and greetings from Germany to Colorado

I put my Socom 16 into a Sage EBR (non chopmod) stock. It was really pretty easy. The original Op rod guide was a little tough to get off. But that was my only issue.

The Troy says it will take any size Op rod. I don't know about the Sage though. I haven't had any problem with any optics on mine. Scope, dot scope, etc. But you might try the Sage Cantilevered Sight Base (http://ebrstocks.com/SIGHTBASE.PDF). This would take care of the ACOG issue.

The only thing I don't like/regret about my setup is buying the socom over the scout. It is difficult to find a suppressor and mfg making a mount for the socom because of the shortened gas system and some other issues.

Whichever you decide I'd love to see pics when you are done.

I have the Troy MCS and love it.

I like the modularity of it compared to the restrictions of parts for the sage stocks.

Both are good, but I prefer the MCS.[M2]
