someone tried to break into my car on sept. 30th and surprisingly the aurora pd caught them, it was 4 kids and the pd caught them in another individuals vehicle about a block away. so i got a subpeona to appear in court. they took a slab of concrete and tried to break out my drivers side window and windshileld and failed, so i guess out of anger they took the concrete and beat it on my door. then one of the kids tried to punch the glass and broke his hand. so i get the pleasure of going to the court house today at three, wish me luck

At least they got caught. I think that's rare so hopefully they can slap them onto the strait and narrow....well maybe not the one dumb enough to break his hand after the concrete failed. There's probably no hope there.

I was thinking the same thing. I could see him suing you for breaking his hand on your car. Had you left it open for him that would have never happened so it's your fault.

no hope, i saw the kid a couple weeks back with the cast on his hand and wrist, one of those idiots that wears their pants around they're knees. i refrained from saying anything to him due the fact that i didnt want him jacking with my wife's tahoe that we were driving when we passed him on the side walk....it was hard not to get out and beat some sense into him

Not sure, I just got one in the mail. I have an estimate for almost $1600 worth of damage so maybe something will come of it.

Read your subpeona. On the top under the case file it'll give you a short brief of why it was issued.

the same thing happened to me, make sure if they miss a payment you call and raise hell with the da's office, and the victims assistance division of the court, they will issue a warrant and put them back in the system for a ftc, so next time they wont get it so easy, thats what I did both times they missed payments, and I got all my money back in no time.

well they filed for a continuance because their lawyer couldnt make it today.....but they couldnt even tell the judge the lawyers name, not even the parents could remember the lawyers name. they had to call the mom's sister to find out the lawyers name. they said that they were in the process of retaining the lawyer, some guy named robos. AND the judge granted them the continuance because quote "this court would be in error to deny someone counsel"..... i was seeing red before i left.

Car windows can sometimes be very difficult to break. I tried to break one with an ASP collapsible steel baton once...bent the baton. Then a wiser and older officer showed my how to use the knob on the end. He poked a hole right in the window and it was much easier to break after that.

If he couldn't do it the first time with the help of his friends what makes you think he could do it alone? haha

Deal with car windows is that, as long as it is fully surrounded by the door frame, it's very strong. If the window is rolled down partially, or its a convertible, then it is much easier to smash, because one end of the window can flex more, which it won't support.

I once shattered my driver side window with my elbow while I was driving. It was rolled all the way up AND tinted. It was from the inside though, so I think it doesn't count.

I can understand. Afterall I gave a pizza driver a 5 dollar tip so that he didn't key my car.

Pretty much like that Ridge. Only with more anger and yelling.

I'm going to start telling people it was like this though: LANGUAGE WARNING, SOME SWEARING.
