I know this in not AR-15 related, but this is the only reloading area.
(Mods...fell free to move if you think there is a better place.)

So I went out today in C.Springs to get a few shotgun reloading components as rumor has it the prices are supposed to go up Jan 1 '08 and low and behold I go to 4 different places and only one has lead shot and they want $50 for a 25# bag!

The others have decided not to carry lead shot temprarly as they figure they will be stuck with shot that is too expensive to sell when the prices fall. They are .... expecting the prices to fall, that surprised me. 2 companies said to currently stock lead shot it would have to be marked at $65/25# bag.

I was also looking for a universal adjustable charge bar for a MEC single stage reloader and nobody in town stocks that item.

So I picked up wads and powder and I am dead in the water.

Anybody else have similar experience?

Sportsman Warehouse carries lead
Last I was in there (a month ago, so beware) it was still $38 a bag (which is still outrageous, but less outrageous than $60+ a bag)

On the charge bar, look online, we got all our stuff for our MEC reloader online. Mid-southern something is where we got ours (lowest price).

Sportsmans was $49.99/25# bag

Rumor had it that ammo and loading supplies were supposed to go up at the beginning of the year...I guess it came earily.... When I asked this most salesmans responses were; "No, it was still going to go up at the beginning of the year."

Mid-South Shooter's Supply?
I already ordered one....MidwayUSA has them on sale this month for $30.

I was actually a little smart. I saw shot prices creeping up and decided to go in with some of the skeet shooters on base. I bought 2,000 lbs for under $15 a bag. Then June of this year the skeet range on base closed. Grrr.

I wish I would have been smarter on jacketed pistol bullets.

I was in Sportsmans a few days ago and saw shot at $50 a bag. But I have a few $10 coupons so that helps a little.

I usually buy $60 worth of primers or 22 ammo and trade in the coupon. Kinda like 15-20% off.

Boy, good thing there's no inflation, I'm sure the .gov would never lie to us about that.
