View Full Version : Why have WOLF ammo prices gone up so much?

I used to use the stuff for all my guns got 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 for 89$ a case. And .223 for 99$ for a 1000 rnd case. Why have the prices more than doubled? At this point its worth just buying winchester white box and using brass cased ammo...

Oh well good thing i stocked up on about 10 cases of each... but it means i have to start curbing my shooting ammount :(

It seems that cases of 7.62x39 are usually around $160-$200 now days... and .223 is around $210-$250. They've been this way for awhile now.

That's a good thing you've stocked up (and I thought I had a bunch of Wolf), cause prices are expected to go up even more in the new year.

Copper prices have gone up due to increase in demand, IRAQ. Wolf will go up again the beginning of the year. Brass cased ammo too. Reloading and all ammo is projected to go up 14-20%

Copper and zinc are both in demand due to the industrial revolution currently taking place in China. The same reason oil is in higher worldwide demand.

Starting an ammunition factory may be a worthwhile venture... I mean heck i've run the math and the raw materials for a .223 or .308 are only about 5-6 cents a round.... Seems like if you opend a plant and undercut everyone at 15cents a round you'd still make a killing and probobly be sold out everytime a batch comes out.

hrmmm... i smell a buisness plan :p

Do you need a special license to sell privatly manufactured ammo?

well thats the material cost only.... i guess formed bullets and casings may make that price go up... but can't you just make that stuff yourself?

actually it is china and india's demand for oil to fuel the mass produced cars they're cranking out.
AND china is experiencing their industrial age.
factor in the billion + people these 2 countries have. why would i as a global corp sell lower to one place, while customer #2 is willing to pay more for the same raw material?

hehe tsr :) too bad we dont have a zombie smily :p

And ya I guess other than reloading ourselves not much we can do about ammo prices... :(

Anyone know how much it costs to reload a .223 and 7.62x39 if you buy everything including the brass cases? Is it even worth doing atm?
