That would be nice since I'm about to jump off the stamp cliff.

Better the NFA than "fiscal" cliff.

Yeah!!!!
Bad for my bank account.
I'm going to join the NFA club in 2013, so I sure wouldn't mind shorter wait times!

Hopefully it won't take the ATF 6-9 months to approve employees [Coffee]
This is really awesome news though, almost double the examiners should help tremendously.

Depends what form you submitted and if it's through an individual or trust. Probably won't see your stamp until at least March.
http://www.randominfo.net/NFA/NfaWait.php This site's pretty handy, or there are lots of forums where people are posting cleared dates on each step of their process.
Two form 4s for trust: Sent June 1st, checks cashed June 6th, pending June 22nd, approved December 2nd, one stamp received Dec 7th, the other on the 8th.

The last couple took right at 6mo. But, my checks got cashed within a week for my last splurge. Checks cashed on 11/27.

Cool thanks for the info. I submitted as a trust, form 4's (2). I was hoping it would be 4 months but 6 is do-able lol. Now to scrounge the 1k for a can!
Thanks for this link. According to this, I have a 50% chance of getting them in January and 44% in Feb. so let's hope so!
