The only reason I'm even mildly worried, is that, unlike most countries with nuclear capabilities and ICBM capabilities, North Korea has nothing to lose.

Uh... no. They are 2 completely difference countries. South Korea is a 1st world nation. North Korea is 3rd world.

Not really. Take the US military out of S. Korea and see how long their 1st world status holds up.

I think they have EVERYTHING to lose. The people in power have got it made, the people close to power see what it's like to have NO power (ie the avg civilian) and will not jeopardize their place, and the people with no power are so cowed/beaten-down they couldn't budge an inch of resistance. Remember, millllions died in that famine and absolutely nothing happened to the regime. Mostly because the population are too busy worrying about what's for their daily ration if they can get it. From everything I've ever seen/read, it is absolutely rusty broken pitchforks against AK's & Tanks crewed by fanatical, not-give-a-shit brainwashed soldiers.

So again, the people at the top are living like royalty, their base is going absolutely nowhere, they will keep up appearances as they have for the past 60 years and will not threaten their own existence by actually attacking anyone in earnest. I was shocked for a second when they attacked and killed Japanese and South Korean forces, but then remembered what a dickless bunch of f***s makeup the UN and Obummer-US and realized that the Japanese/SK knew they could depend on zero support if they retaliated.

As someone who works very closely with the intel community, I disagree. South Korea has a strong economy that is not being propped up. Sure, we got them where they are today, but they could easily sustain their formidable military prowess without us. Our presence is to protect our Asian assets from North Korea, not necessarily to protect South Korea.

Different country , and it will hold great with or without.

Not sure the continental US has much to worry about, but Japan and Hawaii may be a different story. Though there is the hope if N. Korea steps that the Israeli's might make Pyongyang glow in the dark, just as a sign of good faith. [Flower]

Ah more saber rattling from a renegade regime... The UN is the biggest group of pussies on Earth, Obama won't do squat, and China is pleading that we not escalate the situation. I guess all we can do now is pray that NK has an accident.

Yeah fool me once shame on you, fool me over and over and over again shame on us. The UN and current Potus have a very high tolerance for having people spit in their faces and make fools of them.
