View Full Version : Does your firearm suck???
Not all Firearms are created equal. Some suck.
Some suck after having crap modified and bolted to them, some suck because of a finish applied, some just suck outright.
Post a picture of your Firearm and I alone will tell you if it sucks or not.
I may explain my rationale, I may not, any rebuttal will fall on deaf ears.
Post at your own risk. I hold no responsibility for your hurt feelings or enlarged ego after the feedback.
Any copy and pastes from stock or Google images will be sacked (Monty Python Reference.)
Also, no other replies to posted firearms in here... This thread has a purpose!!!

Everything looks in order here. We have a ACS stock, ergo grip, and MI handguard. I feel that the MI handguard is underrated for the price.
Also, we have a mid-length handguard on a carbine rifle, style points for free floating it and covering that gas block.
Would be totally for this rifle, if it was a real Eotech on top of it instead of a look alike.
Still, your rifle does not suck. Ruling made.
Plus I just lost my pup a week ago, so you get extra points for having a gun dog in the pic.
Pics must be submitted one at a time, if you submit a pic with 2 guns, list which one you want mercilessly judged. Then you can submit the other later.

What do we have here???
An AR in 7.62x39.... Wow! Now lets get to business. First... a grip pod, which nobody besides tinker-bell's tacticool fairy cousin should own. Lets add the fact that it is completely railed, has rail covers, and no actual sighting device in the current state. Collapsing stocks belong on an AR where they are necessary. Side/under-folders or a fixed stock belong on this rifle. The over capacity magazine on this rifle bump it over the top. I'm sorry, but in the state of this picture, this firearm sucks.

Lets see here. Obviously registered as an SBS or an AOW depending if it ever sees a shoulder. Too many damn straps for my taste. Seriously... its 16" long... is it that hard to carry that you need two straps???
Still, this firearms is a business firearm. It holds as many shells as it can carry. It has clearly seen use, and wear, but is not in disrepair. This firearm does NOT suck!

Congratulations! You went though the hassle and expense of an SBR. Thank god you weren't one of the people that went with a chainsaw lower (as far as I can tell... the pics aren't best quality).
So your investment will last. You've got that going for you. Unfortunately you put two sections of ladder rail on top (including a single 2-Tmark section at the rear?!?!?!). Obviously the places you grabbed on top were chewing up your hands!!! Sorry about that!
Also, did anyone tell you that you don't really have a suppressor at the end of the barrel? Just looks a little like one.
Still, you used quality components on this build (which I appreciate), and went thought the NFA work (I presume) for this build. It therefore does NOT suck. But doesn't mean I like it either.

Well... I think what we have here is a perfectly acceptable AR. But then someone decided to throw an adjustable cheek wield on an M4 stock, a "kinda" stable bi-pod, some rings that move on a nearby squirrel fart, and a longer barrel on it. Wait, who uses a magwell grip on a 20"+ bbl??? I have a close in grip, I can go tactical!!! for 10 seconds, until the barrel length is too heavy to hold steady and un-shaking.
The sling makes sense. A long range AR needs it. Unfortunately this is too "mixed" for a good solution. In the picture state, this firearm sucks.

Congratulations... You own a SCAR-16!!! You lucky bitch you!
You got some better mags, and a better pistol grip. NICE!!! Still you didn't do anything to detract from the value of the gun.
Also, an ACOG looks nice up there. The matching special edition FDE AGOG for sale 6 months ago would look better, but its still an ACOG, right??
You didn't detract anything from this firearm while making it yours. It is still worth market value plus the ACOG (I would have gone red, but if green is your thing thats cool too). Just don't try to sell it for $1K over MSRP, people here know better.
Still, your firearm does NOT suck.

Ok I kid some more...
Can't see the correct side, so shame on you for taking the pic on that side. Guessing a series 70? Looks in good conditions, but needs some cleaning and love ASAP. Get on it.
It is strangely more "officer 1911" authentic than I have seen any kimber in real life. Perhaps the picture is saving you, perhaps it is just in a cool condition, but this man that thinks that most all Kimber's suck says.... This firearm does NOT suck.

Ok.... The calico Jack isn't my favorite of Spikes lowers, but at least it isn't something polymer. Still, a bit kitschy on occasion for me. Looks to be a carbine length gas on a 8.5-9.5 inch bbl. Unless it is a dissy style 9mm AR pistol, but I doubt that.
I could judge better if I could see it function... a ~9 inch 5.56 bbl is not seldom easy to make cycle every time. Additionally, I haven't in person run into a wrap on a pistol AR buffer tube like that before. So giving the benefit of the doubt that the firearm cycles reliably, this does NOT suck.

Looks like a REM 700 short action on an AICS. This is so hard to judge without knowing more. Because of the AICS, I'll assume it is built out (but ignore that the scope might make me question that).
So... we have an AICS with a short action on it... COOL! Probably a .308, maybe a .260, but probably not. I think .260 is too cool for this gun. But still, .308 is kinda cool, right?
Lets just assume that this rifle is worth the chassis it is in. It should have a lapped and printed bolt, trued barrel threads, etc. It has the super sweet bolt knob... but not sure everything else... maybe, maybe not.
Unfortunately, I am a glass snob. I would have gone with something (S&B, USO, or even NF) over the Vortex glass before the chassis, brake, or dang near anything else I assume is on this rifle from the tiny pic. Unfortunately, your rifle sucks. But don't cry. It is much easier than some of the others to get to a good state. So you got that going for ya.. right???

So here we have a MAK 90, original wood... pretty cool. It would be killer, if it had a matching pistol grip. and a matching butt-stock. Still, I would take a matching pistol grip, and a nice wire-frame under-folder as a suitable alternative.
Assuming you aren't going to try to sell this for $1300+, this firearm, does not suck.... but could use some cool retrofitting upgrades IMHO.

TRP railed operator. One of my favorite non-uber-fancy 1911s on the market. I wish they could make the front strap and rear strap less "saw your epidermis off", and more "not slip out of your grip"... but it is a minor(ish) complaint. Still... the TRP is, in my opnion, one of the finest normal price, combat ready 1911s available today.... This certainly does NOT suck.

An FNP 45 in FDE. Its almost camo in most locations, but not quite!
The magazines show that they have been used, and not babied all the time. I'd rather buy new magazines than never let mine drop clear of the frame freely in good practice.
I also see you have a threaded barrel on there, and shame on you for not posting with the hood ornament affixed!

Its almost hard to believe this lanky f#&ker even cycles. Oh, wait, it doesn't in many cases.
You need a 6 foot wing span to draw high enough to clear a holster.
This pistol is an abomination. If 5 inches isn't enough sight radius to get the bullet to where it needs to go, buy a rifle.
This firearm does suck.

Ah, the M1 30 carbine. My grandfather carried one as a truck driver in the 'corps in Korea. The stock is clearly a replacement, or the photo should be an advertisement cover for whoever refinished it. Would be cooler with the original on there.
While I would much rather have the big brother that most of the infantry carried in that era, these are more difficult to find. And BHO doesn't seem to like them... after all we are importing M1 Garands from S. Korea, but have decided that the carbine little brother is not allowed entry. So it has that going for it.
Ruling: This gun does not suck.

Ah the 2V CTG. If you can't hit them in 6 shots, this sucker aught to be heavy enough to use as a bludgeon. It probably has that goofy forward cylinder latch on the other side, no?
Still. Its a DW, before he was incorporated into CZ and moved from Mass to NY. That means this firearm was produced no later than 2004. Perfect bluing, no scratches.

I have that same feeling... question is, why is J doing the judging? One would think Bert is more qualified... [Coffee] Just kidding J, please don't hurt me...[Help]
Bert is too easily bribed with Fiskars. I'm more impartial. [ROFL3]

What do we have here? An M4 profile carbine length AR-15. Dang, the rarity is mind-blowing!
So lets make it a bit more unique... we will throw on some some random pieces in ODG. A rail cover here and there, a magazine, and why not a AFG for a finishing touch.
But wait, call in the next 15 minutes and we'll throw in more.
That's right... we will haphazardly throw in a huge frickin boat light zip tied to the gun. But cutting off the excess zip tie plastic will cost an extra $9.95. Adding an extra 5lbs to the front of the gun will make it balance like a sorority girl at 2AM on tequila Tuesday.
This gun does suck. And it uses a ton of battery too.

It is surprising the condition the barrels are in, given that I can't find a single blemish on the stocks.
I see in your collection, you have one of the rare 1964 ASFS 90. The experimental shotgun developed by Army Special Forces (ASFS 90 stood for Army Special forces shotgun, 90* engagement) for engaging suspects around corners. Velocity suffered so greatly from the design, it was scrapped later that year in favor of a more traditional barrel contour and good ole fashioned leaning.
It is also quite clear that you have gone through significant paperwork with the ATF. I can clearly see two "cane guns" in there, that require an AOW tax stamp. Good for you! Now you can walk limp free and have one shot to use in self defense.
I also enjoy the finish applied here. Who needs cerakote when you can use oxidized iron. Unique, but timeless.
These guns do NOT suck.

So you got that going for ya.. right???
Haha good guess, it is a .308, beginner rifle for me. 700 5r, badger bolt knob and fte muzzle brake, aics 2.0, seekins base and rings, and yes a vortex viper pst, i know it sucks but ive been saving for a schmidt. hopefully i will have one before the end of january.

Funny thing is...at about 20 feet the round would hit the ground about half way between you and the target. It was bought new and was sent back to the manufacturer who changed out all the springs in it. My friend (the original owner) spent about a year messing with it changing out to custom parts and such to get it even close to hitting anything. He ended up just giving it to me for free.

Well... What do we have here. A 9mm Suppressed SBR AR. And in FDE, you don't see that every day.
Not sure I get throwing a battle ax on there. Or the hand stop on the handguard that no woman in her right mind would call "adequate length". Seriously, throw something longer on there and bury that can inside of it!
Still, you must be a man that knows what he wants. Many would go for a standard lower, with a mag-well adapter so they could change calibers on that expensive registered lower. But you went head first, 9mm all the way. Then you decided, hey, you know what, if I'm going to cerakote any of my ARs, it might as well be the one that I am more or less stuck with, and cant swap another black lower in when I get tired.
So, for being a man that knows what he wants, and isn't afraid to do it no matter what the cost later: This gun does NOT suck.

An RG10. I thought these were all melted down into paperweights, or something else much more useful than their original design.
This firearm does suck. But look on the bright side, if you are ever short for cash, you could trade this bad boy in on a 6 pack and a Subway $5 any-any-any footlong.
And I don't care what ya say, the only thing suckin' about my '43 IBM is the fact that I'm not out shooting it right now.

Another M1 Carbine. A late model, since it has the Bayo lug. Even later as it moved to the leaver safety (by looks of the pic) instead of the earlier push-button safety.
It is in fantastic shape. Any idea where it was Re-imported from?
This firearm does NOT suck.

What a rare specimen. Unfortunately the ammo consumption just isn't effective for common use. You can feed it all day long, and the projectiles just come slowly plopping out of the business end with almost no velocity.
Still, it does not suck.
I'm curious...

Another Kimber? At least a portion of your purchase went to support LAPD fallen officers and their families. Most guys just let all of that money go to the lightly-trained monkeys Kimber has hired recently to replace their quality assurance workers.
But it is still a rare model, for a kimber, and they threw some neat little upgrades on it from the factory.
Ah screw it, this gun sucks.
Not mine but I like it.17105
