View Full Version : Props for Larue
I know I am not stating anything new here, but I wanted to throw out props to Larue. I placed an order last Sunday night for some Troy folding sights. Monday AM I had a tracking number and UPS has just left the package on my door. Nice quick processing.
In addition, as I am sure you all know, the box had the sights I ordered, plus:
A cool Larue hat
Dillo Dust (which I was running low on)
A "Happy Holidays 2012" gold colored Beverage Entry Tool
2 bumper stickers
A DVD of the 10th Annual International Sniper Competition.
3 copies of a pocket edition of the U.S. Constitution
I could have saved about $2 by ordering the sights from someone else, and maybe could have found a free shipping deal, but the experience makes me feel good.... all the extras are worth more than the $10 shipping.
Good stuff comes from Leander Texas.
One of my OBRs was built on Sept 11th 2011. I happened to be in Austin working some forest fires and spoke with Mark for a bit.

From the label - Ingredients: Sugar, Salt, Paprika, Chili pepper, Celery, Garlic, Comino.
Now you just have to figure out the correct ratio of ingredients.

AHHH love the Dillo Dust great stuff!!
I'd put that Dillo Dust on everything, kinda like I do with Tony's today. Shit those are the only two seasonings ya need, hahaa! Well that and Garlic Salt, I'm an addict.

It's been so long I forgot when I ordered, heh. Need to check my emails, but still waiting too. I'm sure it'll be worth it though, so don't worry. I wanted a really lightweight and well-built AR. LaRue is very reputable for quality.

Heard anything back from them about when you can expect it?
I just spoke with LaRue sales. He said "Sorry bud, we can't give ANY idea on when your rifle will be built, OR where you are in queue." Regardless of if I give them my order# and date, etc. They can't tell you anything.
I understand why, but it still sucks not knowing. You would think they would have a good idea on how many basic builds they can produce, and how long it takes for each one, then have a list of rifle orders in queue, then some simple math to give an ESTIMATE anyway. Afterall everything is computerized, or should be. But I'm no business owner, so maybe it's way more complicated than that?...
But no big gripes since they don't charge until it's ready to go.
Just talked to someone down there to place an order for an OBR.. "Your looking at a year or more for delivery"..
Wheeeeee...

Look on their main page and they have a forum link to an AR15 site. There is a thread that you can email your info to (order date, number, item) that will give you some idea where they are at in their order process.
Same boat for my PreditAR but it will be worth the wait. Until then it gives me plenty of time to get the reloading components. I need primers (on back order Powder Valley), I have some brass, dillon dies, bullets and plenty of powder.

I bet. On the bright side you got in before the panic buy.

Didn't help me any, because the panic buy is what's holding me up now.

Misery loves company. Like good scotch and brandy it will be worth the wait. Was sweating bullets when Di Fi was on the war path thinking legislation was going to pass and screw all of us.

I called Larue today, and something very unexpected happened: I got through very quickly to a person. There is normally a very long queue. I updated my information and hopefully they'll remember that I still need the rest of my rifle. They remembered today, at least.
Ordered on Monday and it said out of stock, so I canceled a couple hours later because 2-6 weeks was the time frame. I got an email tuesday saying that it shipped and should be here on thursday if I wanted to keep the order. Damn right I will keep the order!
Expecting my 13.2" rail system in today......I feel like a kid a Christmas, I can't wait for the dillo dust!
