Whats been the average recently so I can get some aspect of this number?

Bailey Guns

3 days

That's not for overwhelming volume of pending checks. The 3 day rule applies only once the application has been submitted and accepted by CBI and they respond with a "Delayed" status. Then it's 3 business days. The day the check was submitted does not count nor do weekends/holidays. I think that's the way it still works.

Picked up a psa complete today . Had already planned it a couple weeks ago was not looking forward to the mad house. I just got in the que and left. Came back about 6 hours later and it just went through. I went to the gun show today too and was there when they opened. The line was forming ,I stayed about an hour looking around and couldn't even move with so many people and the line was 100 deep at least on my way out.

IIRC, usually between 20 and 80 at any given time. It usually breaks 100 on Saturdays. I'm sure someone will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the average is usually around maybe 10-20 in the queue, my buddy and I were at Sportsmans last Sunday at around noon and he picked up a new M&P and he was only number 2 in the queue so it too like 10 minutes.

Is there a way for anyone to check the queue or only for FFL's?

Sportsmans Wharehouse was a zoo today, TONS of people buying guns. Myself included, I figured with the bans looming I better join the AR club while I can[AR15] My budget wasnt too big so I ended up getting a Windham AR15 (last one at that) and then picked up a red/green dot since there were no sights on it. They seem to have a good reputation as far as cheaper ARs go. But after 5 hours, my background check still didnt go thru so Ill hopefully get to pick it up tomorrow. Cant wait to shoot it! But now I gotta find some ammo as all that was sold out as well.

My wife and I just came back from buying her birthday present and the folks said they are looking at least a 22 hour wait for CBI. Envy or not, you and others are missing the bigger picture. This " gold rush" as some have called could very well be their last hurrah. State & federal laws could close the doors on LGS across the country. Some will become diverse and cater to the fudds who sat back while the 2nd amendment was decimated by "sensible people" Others will never be able to recoup, especially when their main inventory might very well become outlawed. So the CBI queue has reached over 5k. How many can they process in 24 hours? Just guessing, but it seems like there are at least 3-4k firearms actually sold and transferred into the hands of their new owners EVERYDAY just in CO. Rough guess, that must equal out to be over 100k+ per day for the whole country. Hell, it's not hard for me to believe that a million new firearms have reached the hands of private citizens in the last month.

No. Only if you are "delayed" which first requires processing to become "delayed". If it takes two weeks to hit the que, it takes two weeks. A dealer would get shitcanned if they let you walk out with it.

Im waiting on a gun in pawn, did paperwork yesterday and he said dont sweat it after 3 days its yours if its taking to long. My guess is he sticks to the law when it comes ti firearms since his business is the pawn business.

Do they get checked manually by a real person? If so, those people must have some blisters on their fingers from the amount of processing they're doing.

Each application is processed by hand by a person who checks all the relevant databases before sending off an approval or denial. They have been working their arses off over there.

Well we've been having people buy multiples for the last week. Some of these late comers are dipping into savings to pick up a few things.

I'm still sticking with my 1/2 million guns sold nationwide by 12/31 statement. I posted in another thread, a shop in NC or SC?? Did a 1 day total of 1MILLION Dollars!!!!!! Thats either a shit load of guns or someone's paying $5K per gun:(

CBI's facebook page said they processed 2138 on Wednesday

4200 on sat for a 2 day total of 6338, say 15K by saturday. NOT INCLUDING the gun show this weekend, maybe a total of 12-15K (anyone??) with guessing 2.5 guns per (maybe) some full 4473's, giving us a grand total of 37,500 guns in ONE WEEK. Anyone think my rough guesstimate is to high? LGS have to be wiped out by now. One store i was in had 10-12 semi auto 20" cammo'd shotguns, can't wait for that PANIC buying to start. Maverick 88 12ga $450 NIB [LOL]

How is the gun show going to work this weekend? NOTHING bought this weekend will get cleared before the gun show is over.

Waiting for the trickle down effect. When it gets down to the assault 22lr, I'm posting my tacticool 10/22 for $1200 FIRM. And I'll throw in a brick of ammo for another $75. Still haven't figured out pricing for my BX-25 mags. Hold your PMs. It's not for sale yet......

Still has evil features. Any 22 that had a folding stock, detachable mag of more than 10 rds, etc etc was on the AWB list. Bet my Sig 522 with quad rail, 2 mags AND the box will be a hot item.

Well, at first I am buying to leverage myself against the panic (remembering 2008), then my bro sent me this link...
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/110/hr6257

110th Congress, 2007–2009
To reinstate the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act.

So a few GOPers tried to reintroduce the ban in 2008. At the rate the libs/anti are pushing for awb, they may just have enough momentum to sway the congress next month.

Heh.

In other news, trading sucks! I've been working at trading a handgun towards another handgun I've been working on getting... Some jerk went in and panic bought it!

So, in retaliation, I bought the other one across town! Take that to whomever bought the Sig 1911 at the LGS in Parker! (though, in all seriousness, good buy. You paid like $13 less than I did.

Now to wait... Though its a good wait. As much as I loathe panics, it is putting guns in the hands of Americans, and ones that evidently appreciate their 2nd amendment RIGHTS and are concerned about them being challenged further.
