The sheriff said the decision to use SWAT team force was justified because the father was a "self-proclaimed constitutionalist" and had made threats and "comments" over the years.

Talk about "the enemy within"...

i wonder if it will be personal suits, or suits against the local government? i'd like to see the former, where these public servants are held accountable for their actions. but if the latter, then who do you suppose pays the insanely large sum of money (not to mention the legal fees)? it kinda reminds me of Tocqueville: "The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money."

He sounds like the "I'm from the Gov'ment, and I'm here to help" type. By his standards, My parent's wouldn't have just been in jail, They would have been under it.

I just have the feeling His socialist attitude just wouldn't quite cut it in the Republic of Marlin.

Every hoard needs a *****: he's got attitude while at that position. Take away that power from him and he'll be nothing but a roach (no offense, roaches). Very familiar with the kind... unfortunately; and very personally.

Where's your hoard's recruitment office, btw?

However, the sheriff declined to provide a single instance of the father's illegal behavior. "I can't tell you specifically," he said.
The sheriff chose to storm that house based on the father's political affiliation.....wow.
