Strange, I haven't heard anything about the record sales on any of the news stations nor seen anything in the internet. Has anyone seen any reporting on record sales yesterday and Friday?

Only a brief news blip on kdvr @9, regarding the loveland gun show. BTW: hit the kdvr.com gun poll. waiting to see how long the 75% who favor gun ownership goes, until the Strict Gun Laws crowd or someone manipulates it towards More Laws.

Seems kind of in poor taste, and I'm sure the media would villify the sales, anyway.

Speaking of gun control polls, I just went to over 15 polls. Voted!
Good news is that all the polls are against new gun control.

Imho- there will be new legislation proposed by the White House by 12noon Monday. I predict a renewal of the Clinton-era AWB. I hope I'm wrong.

Hope not. They might be busy taking care of that fiscal cliff.

This is what I'm hoping for too, that they're too busy with the current issues to deal with it, but wouldn't be surprised if we see something drafted in the next 3-4mo.

My soon-to-be father in law thinks the solution is to "tax the shit out of ammo". I say we just ban all high capacity clips... [NoEvil]

Solution to what? Sounds like further oppression to me.

I was saying I'm hoping they're too busy with the fiscal cliff crap to deal with creating new gun laws. I never said it would be a solution, just that I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with something in the next few months. After all, Obama did say that it is time to take meaningful action.

Unless of course its opening the door to free mental healthcare, right next to free medical healthcare. Beats the alternative of banning guns.

Unfortunately these gun polls don't mean crap, the people spoke their minds in Nov... Guess we wait and see, glad I finally got my Colt and plenty of Pmags.

We are about to see the Democratic anti gun machine go into nitrous oxide and supercharged overdrive. The prez's statement the other day as far as "Meaningful action regardless of politics" is a foreboding one.
Constitution and Congress be damned, he will act even if it is unconstitutional and illegal.
We knew it in 2008 at the DNC when he stated he would see that military type weapons would be forever off of the streets of America.

They have "The Perfect Storm" now for their agenda.

Local CBS did a story on it yesterday morning. I went to bass pro yesterday afternoon and you couldn't even get near the counter to look at anything. there were probably a good 8 or so people looking for holsters and the two ammo isles were packed.

I also was at JAX in Lafayette last night and he said the background checks were taking over 3 hours to run. he said even on black friday the wait was still under an hour. But he also said he is surprised prices on ammo and guns hasn't gone up much at all.

Someone with facts should send them all the story. You can assure they are not looking for this kind of story to cover.

i was at Grand Prix and GMG and it was crazy. I'm sure today will be more of the same.

I think these tragedies really show the gun support in this country. Those who want gun control use their big voices to call for control while those who see how these things happen go out and buy guns.

We hear a lot about gun control but I really think that it's a small group that is fairly effective at begging heard.

Problem is that remaining bit of fascist gun grabbers run the media and control most means of public discussion.

Like the law makers will actually hear the voice of the people, they will ban some guns to make it look like they are working hard, because solving problem with mentally ills are too much work.

Media is driven by the likes of Bloomberg. The news is only what they want it to be. They have the freedom to choose which news to report.

And face it, no matter what happens. Deep wallets will always have their firearms and the ability to buy ammunition no matter what "tax" comes along. If O has his way the 2nd amendement will be a pay as much as you can afford right.

The trouble is that laws govern civilized people, uncivilized don't and won't care. There is only one thing those folks understand.

I was standing at the gun counter at Sportsman's in Loveland and the sales staff were telling their gun buyers that they will put the information in right now but that they will call them tomorrow when they get the check results back, the wait time will not allow them to get their guns today.

Dang, thats pretty bad! I've only had to wait once and that was at Neve's when I used my GSSF Pistol Certificate to get LE pricing on my Glock 23. It was about an hour wait and not that painful but I would be pretty upset if I couldn't take my gun the same day (states with mandatory wait periods) or if the NICS check took that long!
