just stated her office will have gun control bill ready for the first day of new session on Congress. They also had the rest of the usual gun grabbing scumbags(Bloomberg etc, even Rupert Murdoch got on the train) claiming we need to ban automatic weapons. [Bang][Bang][Mad][Mad].

These intellectually dishonest scum sucking pricks.... aw fuck it, I can't even get into a good rant.

Going outside to cut firewood and perforate some paper w/ my grandson, piss on those bastards.

it will never pass.

you want to come to my house and get my guns?... Really?

It is a knee-jerk "LOOK I TRIED!" reaction.

Sounds like we may see a spike in the number of boating accidents in regards to lost firearms.

I think she said the proposed ban would not be retroactive. That being the case, she is not intending to propose legislation to take away current firearms/mags, but would limit those sold in the future. Here is the CNN article describing her position --> http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/16/feinstein-to-introduce-assault-weapons-ban-bill/

Do you have a source for this? On HuffPo she is quoted as saying:

It will ban the sale, the transfer, the importation and the possession, not retroactively, but prospectively...

But she called them clips, drums and strips holding more than 10 bullets.....[facepalm]

I may have heard it wrong as my wife was yelling at the TV about how stupid the whole panel was but I thought she said it would be retroactive.

I bet she wishes it could be retroactive.

I bet she wishes it could be retroactive.

We'll have to wait to see what it actually says when presented. If she patterns the legislation after CA laws, it will, indeed, affect current firearms - even if primarily focused on limits of future purchases.

Feinstein has been pushing the exact same bill year after year since 1994. Of course she'll have it ready. All she has to do is edit the submission date at the top and print off another copy.

Seriously gentleman if they do a ban and criminallize possession of semiautomatics do you really think people will hand them over. Recently a liberal ask me why I have firearms and my answer to him was to protect myself and my family from people like him who think the same way and attempt to take our rights a way. Boating accidents what ever, we should not have to hide our freedom because if we do are we truly free? The recent elections and these shootings have put us at a crossroads. We are all going to have become politically active to keep our rights. Personally I want to see politicians focus on coming up with something that mandates mental health professionals to to report concerns. One of main reasons you don't see many kids these days shooting up schools is because school officials are mandated to have practices in place to twart violence and quite frankly it has worked quite well. Mental health professionals have to change their tactics. Hold them accountable dammit

Exactly! Do they intend to violate my other rights to enforce these bans if they occur? Is that still acceptable to the anti-gun crowd? How happy are they going to be when the police show up to search their residences for firearms and/or high cap magazines? Shall we throw away the 4th and 5th Amendments as well?

If the government tries to take away people's firearms they will start a civil war and they will lose the civil war. I know countless men and women currently serving and they would not go to war with the current American population in order to strip them of their 2A rights.

I smell a registration clause. "You an own them before the new AWB goes into effect, as long as you register them with your local LEO." Defacto registration, i.e., they're not illegal after a certain date UNLESS you can't provide documentation that you owned/posessed/registered them before any new law goes into effect.

Ronin13
12-17-2012, 12:39
OK I have to say it... "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED." Why the hell would we allow anything (1934/1968 included) to "limit" our rights? When are we going to stand up and say enough is enough!?

Good luck enforcing that. I for one say they can register my nuts right into their collectivist mouths.

Just very furious, didn't expect the storm to come this fast and badly but it is so we got to let it be known compromise is not in the cards this time. They will take everything from us and if you're not ready to fight the fight to keep your rights step out of the way for those that will.

This got me thinking this morning... Granted we can all let our voices be heard in the various ways allowed in our (so for) free society, and let our lawmakers know that anti-gun legislation is not ok. But, what happens if they do pass another AWB with magazine cap? First at state level, what can we do? Have the NRA help out with a lawsuit? Go to the SCOTUS? What about at a federal level? Short of the unspeakable, I fear that they'll do whatever they want, our opinions be damned, and we'll either be forced to follow the law, or become outlaws. What choice do we have here?

Very good question, and I guess we can count on something happening that we don't like. I think we've missed our biggest chance to avoid actions like these, in that we should have been pursuring a grass-roots education effort to those who are afraid of guns and gun owners. It's still not a bad idea, and it should start with our own changes in attitudes. Stop calling them libtards and antis, and consider them "pre-gun owners". Sponsor free range days, and make it liberal friendly: no camo, no military gear, bring your own wives and kids, get a few interested, get them educated, and let them be a voice for reason for us. Anti-gun people aren't going to be influenced much by "gun-nuts", as they see us, but we can create influence agents in their midst.

As far as the impending legislation, it's going to be a tough time, I think. Education, statistics are all in our favor, but emotions are running very high. It's a good thing, I think, that we're as far from an election cycle as we are, as it gives a legislator more breathing room to take a stand in the emotions of the day.
