View Full Version : Are these Bulgarian Mags?
Dont know much about these so sorry if this is a newb question. Was told these are circle 10 mags but they dont have the circle 10 mark. Only marks are the "2" and on the back towards the bottom there seems to be two very small diamonds. They have the metal feedlips and lock tabs. Btw these are 5.45 mags

They are definitely not Bulgarian mags as bulgy Mags are either circle 10,21 or 25 depending on the plant. Those are likely polish tantal poly mags which are virtually identical to bulgy mags aside from markings of course
Didnt think they were bulgy from what I've searched. These still good mags?
Yep they are the early Polish poly mags

Yep those are literally no different than bulgy mags if they have metal reinforced feed lips and locking lugs.
Didn't they start importing smooth sided Bulgarian mags a few years ago? I've never handled one so I don't know how they are marked, but I believe that they scored pretty well in a recent shotgun news magazine test.

I don't believe so. The new commercial bulgys are primarily all plastic. They don't think they have the metal feed lips and metal rear tab like the bulgy military ones do. Still a good mag but just not as indestructible as the military ones.

What kind of mags do you think mine are? The place I bout them from said they were bulgies, but when I got they arrived they do not have any "circle" marks. They do have metal feed lips and have two "Y" marks at the bottom and appear to have been painted but not sure.

To be honest they look like they were sanitized East German bakies painted black.
Too bad they werent the plumb colored Soviet ones.Their actualy worth more when you strip the paint off.

This may be an odd question but what does sanitized mean. First thing that comes to mind is sanitized like medical equipment, but why would I give a rats backside if a Mag is sanitized??
Sanitized in firearms means that the makers and country markings are scrubbed so that they can not be asosiated to them.
Some countries would give aide to other countries against Geneva Convention and such, hence the sanitization of the parts..
Yea To me it doesn't make a difference if there scrubbed or not,but some people get all fuzzy warm about authentic stuff..

Yep bob is right ahh such a shame they ground off the mold number. I love East German bakies
I was thinking about it the other day, correct me if I'm mistaken Justin.
I think the black painted East German bakies were Polish issue.
The Poles had a shortage on tantal mags when they deployed and took up the slack with the German mags but painted them black to fit in with the rest..
