Bloomberg said Obama could use executive powers to enforce existing gun laws, as well as throw his weight behind legislation like Feinstein's.
"It's time for the president, I think, to stand up and lead and tell this country what we should do – not go to Congress and say, `What do you guys want to do?'" Bloomberg said."
So, does Bloomberg think the POTUS is his personal puppet? Scary talk in this article...

What an idiot. How do people like this get elected in the first place, much less keep the office? Shouldn't a politician at the very least be required to have a basic understanding of our *intended* system of government?

I'm glad the douche understands the concept of a dictatorship. Now if he'd only realize that the US isn't one.

Don't politicians take an oath to uphold the laws of the land?

Mr. Ahole Bloomberg apparently had his fingers crossed while taking the oath of office.

Makes sense as neither of them actually believe in a democracy or freedom.

Bloomberg is a tyrant. Pure and simple.
He doesn't give two shits for the life of anyone ... adults, children, ANYONE but himself.
He also knows that at some point he's going to have to put his boot on the neck of the people and he doesn't want them to be able to shoot back at the army of armed thugs he commands (and certainly not at him personally). THAT is why he wants to disarm the people.
His hatred for liberty and the common man is so complete I doubt he'll ever see the light.

I think Bloomberg has spent too much time as the Grand Duke of NYC, getting his way inside the city limits.

Well, that was some disturbing reading.
There was only one voice of reason in that video segment when it was stated at the very end that there were no significant changes in gun violence in the 10 years the when the AWB was in place.
If less guns equals more safety, why are all of our elected representatives protected by people with guns? In the case of the President and most members of the cabinet, their bodyguards carry machine guns which are all but impossible for the average citizen to obtain. Perhaps they should lead by example, and disarm their guards. Bloomberg should lead this initiative.
Bloomberg doesn't intend to give up HIS guns, nor do his cronies. Gun control is an elitist mentality. Only politically connected individuals -- and the police who protect them -- should be allowed to own a firearm in their opinion . . . and anyone who disagrees would be declared an enemy of the state and locked in prison if they had their way. It has nothing to do with "public safety" or "the children" . . . that is just the excuse they use.

[bad-banana]
Get ready
I really don't think we're going to get anything at the Federal level ... not even an AWB. They can't get anything through the House and Senate these days, I just don't see a major gun control law making its way through that [rhymes with Buster Duck].
Now Hickenlooper and the Boulder/Aspen/Pueblo/Denver Democrats may pull some nonsense here in Colorado.
If Obama wants to start something he needs to make an executive order to have his heavily armed secret service only carry non lethal tazers and ride in a convertible.

I wonder if Bloomberg's parade of victims included those shot by his officers at the Empire State Building, when he was on the news while the casings were still hot, calling it a mass shooting and stating "there's a lot of guns out there".
