So my brother said in the same 5 min span that they need to ban high cap mags and that doing so wouldn't do any good. I told him that he needs to be the first to turn in his. He then says that they can ban them because he already has his. I then pointed at my 5 year old son and asked what about him? He says that he can have mine when I'm dead. WTF he can't think rationally anymore.

My mom calls this morning to ask what they had done at my kids elementary school. Nothing different that I can see. I mention that gun sales are through the roof because of this. Mag sales are through the roof. Mainly because I'm pointing out that if there was a ban it wouldn't do any good. She then responds with oh yea I'm sure there's at least a few nuts that have bought guns recently. I responded with, yea I wish I had an extra grand to drop right now myself. Long pause...ok I gotta go.

People are losing it. The gun community has to get together and stick together through this one.

What's the best way to stop them from steam rolling over our rights?[Rant1]

That reminds me of this interview. The interviewee gun control advocate admits his stand is stupid and call the interviewer stupid.

My dad is the same way- he sees absolutely no need for "hi-capacity" magazines. He's conservative too, just not really all that into guns- despite the fact that he owns two shotguns and an old ass .38 revolver, but those collect dust. I don't get it...

Try having 100% of your relatives in either Canada or Great Britain. I refuse to discuss firearms or related topics with them anymore - they simply don't get it. They truly believe that guns are evil machines capable of killing people without user input. The actually think the police will be sitting right around the corner while they're being raped, mugged or beaten.

It took 20 minutes for the first police to get to the school on Friday.
