View Full Version : ZOMFG! It's a BLIZZARD
WTF, Over? Since when does a potential 3ish inches of snow plus 15-25 mph winds equal a f**king snow emergency? Ferfuxsake, I walked to school (admittedly only about a mile) in far worse in Lakewood growing up. [Bang]

Just like in school, a 75 out of 100 will get you a "My Child is on the Honor Roll" bumper sticker.
You really need to get with the relative standards of the times.

Both ways
In the summer no less
But seriously, I can only recall a handful of snow days the entire time I was in school. And they were serious storms.

had to walk...couldn't afford a saddle for the Mastadon...
In light of how little moisture we've received this year, I'd be thankful for 3" of snow, regardless of what name the media attaches to the event.
Snow? Where??
I havent seen a REAL snowstorm in a few years!!
Be nice to have a few snowdays-too bad I only live a couple of blocks away from work though :(
I heard they got 16" in Grand Lake last night.

Now were talking!!
i wonder how the sking industry is doing to the lack of snow??But then again it has been cold enough to make their own snow.
Anyone else have their cell phone have a stroke and start sounding like an air raid siren when the 'blizzard' warning went out... I thought for sure we'd been nuked.
Only about 5 runs were open at Copper last weekend according to someone who was there. They are reporting that the mountains may be getting as much as 24" in this storm though.

Yea, the wife at the grocery store, thought she was gonna pull her carry piece and go to condition black. She was not happy that I thought it was funny. Very cold in the car on the ride home.

So where the hell is the snow. Hardly any clouds even, can still see stars. Dog is pissed, he loves the snow and we made a big deal about playing in the snow last nite before going to bed. Now he is sitting by the door wanting to go out every 5 mins.
5:26Am. Not a trace here...[blah-blah]

Means no snow here til probably after 9(50 miles east and 20 miles south).[fail]
May have to sneak out the door for work, so as to avoid temper tantrum and guilt trip from the dog.
I stand corrected...5:45 and its now snowing..

Glad you are fairing well.... here we have gusts between 60-70mph and drifts are already exceeding a foot on the road at 7:30am (N-eastern El Paso County)

Looking at the cameras on cotrip.org, it doesn't look too bad right now...snowing and windy, though
starting to get some accumulation out east!!!
Ill have to keep an eye out im not living till after 4 when I'm off work
I'm with Bert, I can only remember ONE snow day when I was in High School, and that was freshman year, and we were already at school when they cancelled. Well, that and the great and terrible blizzard of '03 that put 7' (that's feet, not inches) on the ground... but I was in Mexico when it happened, and we came back to... (dun dun dun) Snowmageddon! No school for a week! Doubt we'll see a storm like that anytime soon.
As for this storm, I'm looking at close to 3" already up here in Evergreen... Hardly anything to shit yourself over. Damn, Jeffco plow truck woke me up at 0400 driving past our house just after the snow started falling, and the roads are snowpacked and icy, but nothing Colorado hasn't seen before... Wait, you mean to tell me, that in a mountainous state, they get SNOW!? Get right out of town! [facepalm]

Its a blizzard in the eyes of all the damn transplants who moved here and can't fricken drive when one damn snowflake hits the ground! It took me 2 hours to drive to work, thanks to all the jerks who were afraid of the little white things falling from the sky.
Right at 3 inches on the ground in Aurora, some wind. Good day to work around the house. Oh wait...I'm supposed to panic and run out to the store to buy milk, bread, and TP. But I already have all that stuff here...dammit...
