I just called to schedule an appointment to get my CCW and apparently the only person able to schedule the appointments is out until Jan 2. How is it that no other person can mark a name and time down on a calendar? I'm extremely annoyed I have to schedule a time on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 10am-2pm and now I have to wait two weeks to even get my name on the list.

That sounds about right for Denver.
No this is not shameless post count whoring
They push the limits well beyond the law, but it would take an expensive lawsuit from RMGO or something to address it, we'd get a crapton of negative publicity, and they still wouldn't fix it.

Sorry to hear that. If you have the option to move out of the city, do so post haste. Major metro and urban areas are where the zombies are congregating and designing their dystopia in the guise of "change."
It was, surprisingly, a much nicer experience when I submitted my app in Arapahoe this year. No appt. necessary, not much of a wait, the guy taking pictures was a former Marine and he and I, plus the lady (investigator?) taking my prints all bs'd the whole time and it was overall a pleasant experience.

I just talked to someone at the department information desk... he mentioned that they're booked for appointments well into February...

Not to derail the thread, but this was my experience with Arapahoe county also. I had same two individuals process me and they were great. It was pretty refreshing after some of the things that I had heard about with Arapahoe.

That's odd, in jeffco I just went in, and stood in line. No appointment necessary.
What is this "appointment" you speak of? [Poke]

Interestingly enough, Denver takes around 30 days to get your permit to you. So that's something.

Haha ya right! Funny guy
Arapahoe is great. The two doing the process are pretty massive smart asses at that. Didn't even charge for notary..

Mine took 34 days and I screwed something up. A couple other people said theirs was 30ish. A friends was 28. There used to be a countdown thread.

Yeah I was told by multiple people today that they would see me in March. I was hoping Arapahoe wouldn't take so long to process but I guess they have 90 days. Further derailment though...maybe Denver's doesn't take so long because nobody is getting their permits?

Well the woman is now back but will not answer the phone. I've been told she is the only one able to schedule the appointments but how the hell am I supposed to schedule it if she won't answer? WTF

My friend told me about this situation a few weeks back. He said he left her a message a couple of weeks ago - that gave me a laugh.

Wow, I feel lucky to be in Jeffco. Walked right in, no line, in and out in 10 minutes. That was last week!

Scheduled. I had the option of Jan 9th or March but I can't get my certified checks by the 9th without paying a lot of money so March it is.

What do you need a certified check for? Will Denver not take a money order? I gave them a money order for CBI and wrote a personal check to the Arapahoe Sheriff.
