Based purely on what John Boner just said: I am 99.81% satisfied with his remarks. Walking off the stage without taking questions was a nice touch.

However, it would be better if it was for every Amerikan regardless of income, and I don't know what this bill does about spending. But that clip was awesome.

I liked the approach he took, but I'll never be able to hold any measure of respect for Boehner after he played the part of stooge at the RNC to oust Ron Paul. Blatant corruption deserves no respect.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand The Boner. I dislike him probably more than somebody like Pelosi. At least we know we she stands. We know where The Boner is supposed to stand, but God only knows where he'll actually be. I've thought all along this is the approach to take:

1) The house passes a bill cutting spending and not raising taxes on anybody (preferably lowering taxes)

2) send said bill to the senate

3) give a press conference saying if the Libtards hate a group of people soooooo much simply because of how much money they have/make that they're willing to let the rest of Amerika suffer, let 'em.

4) We're going home. See ya next year.

That's great. [Beer]

I think I'd be happy if they could even accomplish item #1.

The thing that frustrates me the most about Boehner is that he's been put in a position by history to be able to say and do things that will result in future generations whispering his name in the same hushed and reverent tones as Reagan and the Founding Fathers ... yet time and time again he pusses out for what appears to me to be zero gain (personally or politically).

Agreed. I had such high hopes for him. We need a Speaker with balls. Maybe after the new session starts, the House should vote Allen West to be the Speaker. As far as I know, the Speaker does not have to be a member of Congress.

Is it too far fetched to think both sides secretly want to fall over the cliff, therefore drastically increasing tax revenue across the board, so they can increase government spending while actually decreasing the overall deficit (not the debt, the deficit)? They could both blame the other side, but garner a positive pin-point for their twisted timelines by showing they balanced a budget in 2013, etc. Recession, here we come.
