Just ordered a single stage press! I ordered the anniversary starter kit from Midway and sometime between me clicking "add to cart" and paying for it, they sold out! GAH!

Anywho, it looks like I'll need to buy calipers, case trimmers, dies, shellholders, tumbler, and components right? Anything I missed?

I'm planning on reloading 308 and 223 in order to deal with ammo costs.

Any recommendations on what supplies I should buy? Anyone in the area willing to teach me the basics of reloading?

I already have the ABC's of reloading so I'll start reading that tonight while I wait for my press to be restocked/delivered

You will need to pick powders and start shopping for small and large rifle primers.

When you find primers at a decent price, buy them till you either run out of money or they run out of primers. Of all of the components, I think primers are the keystone to reloading.

When you find some online, depending on how much powder and primers you will be purchasing, you may want to share your order with another reloader to split the HazMat fee.

Find someone who already reloads and pick their brain.

Be safe.

Best sources for reload data and it's free. Like cstone said stock up on primers, those seem to be the first reloading component to go when the panic starts and everyone runs out of ammo to sell.

You can get a set of calipers from Harbor Freight.

Also they have fine grit walnut media for $22 it's a good price.
