Their are several pro and anti gun petitions currently. But the reason i went was to sign the petitions to classify wbc as a hate group, have the irs audit their tax exempt status, and revoke their tax exempt status. But looking through the active petitions i found some good ones! I would post links but im on my phone.

There's a White House petition to ban White House petitions. It's the only one I'd sign. The majority of the rest are asking for the tyranny of the majority.

These petitions keep going around, and I can't figure out why people think they have any damn effect. Has anyone heard a peep about the petition for Texas to secede that had over 120,000 "signatures" on it? The White House does not give two shits about how many people took three seconds out of their day to "sign" their name under whatever unintelligible, rambling diatribe the latest illiterate douchenozzle posted. In a way, I'm glad they don't. Have you looked at how many people have put their name on the petition to deport people who signed a petition to allow their State to secede? How about the one requesting the First Amendment include a restriction on criticizing prophets of various religions? The .gov is already horribly inefficient at everything they touch; I cannot imagine how little would get done if they actually took time to respond to any of this bullshit. Call your congressman if you have a gripe; that's what they are for, to represent us.

Regardless, one my buddies posted a link on FB to the one classifying WBC as a hate group. As I served with this particular Marine and hold him in the highest respect, I felt compelled to remind him the First Amendment does not apply only to those with whom you agree. I don't know where this "hate group" and "hate speech" thing came from, but that kind of Liberal bullshit is really starting to grind my gears. No one has the right to not be offended. No one gets to restrict what I can say based on whether or not their little feelings are going to get hurt. /rant

All great points. I would still love to use my second amendment on their first however.

LOL that's almost verbatim what my buddy said about it too. I totally agree.

Out of the 20 or so I have signed I finally received a response. I received an email stating that the pres is watching these to see where public opinion is at on this issue following the school shootings. So it might be worth signing the fucking thing instead of just bitching about shit.

Maybe when you get done crying like a little bitch you can wipe your tears and change your fucking diaper and do something positive instead of just writing bull shit negative posts on here and expecting the NRA to save you.

And on the westboro church thing, because they go way beyond your little bullshit "freedom of speech" rant.

LMFAO! Does someone need a hug? I don't think I attacked you personally in my rant, but I see you've gotten your panties in a twist about it anyway.

I can't imagine why you would assume I haven't written to my reps on every issue I have a strong opinion about, including this latest gun-control issue. By all means, don't let the fact that these petitions don't mean shit stop you from patting yourself on the back for taking the time to log into the white house site and attach your name to all the petitions you agree with. I do think if that is the only thing you're doing to make your voice heard, you are wasting your time.

If WBC does anything "way beyond" free speech that actually infringes on someone else's rights, it is probably already illegal.
