Ruger SR9 and CZ 75 P01

I got a chance to handle a Ruger SR9 the other day at the store and was very impressed. Anyhow, I havent had a chance to handle the CZ 75P01 but have heard incredible things of the CZ 75. Any comments or personal experience with these two firearms?

I have shot the Ruger and have owned a SP-01 for a year or so now.

PO1 is a decent gun..very accurate..and seems to feed about everything.

personally I am not fond of CZ decockers..as the control is where my stong hand thumb is placed..so I need to change my grip slightly..
I do love CZs with the manual safety..I find the CZ line, well built, very accurate and reliable for a service type pistol.


The SR9..looks decent..I haven't had the chance to really get into one..the trigger linkage..looks very Glock like. the gun seems very slim compared to other ruger semi autos..and looks like one of the better looking ones from Ruger.

if they were priced a little lower than a Glock..I think they might have something..but the polymer world is getting very crowded..

I would go with the CZ if looking for a great 9mm..

thanks for the feedback, you have all re-assured my interests of the CZ over the Ruger. I am getting this weapon as a carry piece as well as a fun plinker since i'm not made of money ;) anyhow, now help me decide between the P01 or the 75 Compact! decocker vs. cocked and locked?

One thing I've been trying to find out;
Does the SR9 use steel frame rail inserts or are they all plastic?

I own a CZ 75B SA and it has done very well for me. It does not have a decocker because it is a single action only handgun. Close to 2k rounds at IDPA and other events with out one single FTF or FTE! It can be field stripped with out tools. In the beginning my accuracy problems were from trying to use reading glasses to see the front sight clearly. I abandoned that foolishness and shoot with out them and the accuracy has improved dramatically. With Houge grips it feels very comfortable. Only gripe is that the holsters for standard 75Bs do not fit the SA model... you need the 75B holster for .40 caliber... tiny complaint indeed. I rate it a 9+.
