So I went in to Jax today just to witness the carnage. I asked the counter person, how have sales been. He says it has been crazy, it was very bare in there. :) But all the guns were still there, simply tagged sold and waiting. He said they anticipate a 3 day wait to clear CBI. At the time I was down there, he mentioned approx 9000 in cue as of that moment. So how is anyone going to buy a gun at Tanner next weekend with out a major hassle? Seems almost pointless to go there and buy a gun. ( I am hoping this train of thought catches on so I can get in and get the optics I need with out a hassle ) [LOL]

Ya, wife and I. She picked up some chicken feed. I just did some investigation. Told her we needed to find another food store. They recently split the store into two. Found out the hard way that the other store had the chicken feed.

Let me know if you find another place for chicken feed. That's the main reason that my wife and I drop by the Lafayette Jax.
It made me so disappointed to hear that they caved to pressure and stopped selling anything high cap.

I'm guessing most people attending will not think about the wait. In reality, I'm not sure it's any different from what you have to do today. You pick out your gun, fill out the form and come back in a few days to pick it up. Only difference is you are picking it up at a different location. Just need to know where the seller is located before you buy.

It will make it all very interesting, that's for sure.

It was the same thing at specialty sports in the springs. Hundreds of guns behind the counter waiting for background checks to clear. The AR section was mostly bare. They had about a half dozen ARs left, another half dozen uppers and a few M1s. Plenty of long and hand guns, and a good amount of hand gun ammo. Sporsmans Warehouse had no ARs either, very few magazines (I saw several kimber and ruger mags). They had shopping carts in the isles and the guys said they couldhardly keep the shelves stocked. They had some ammo, mostly for handguns and did have 3 cases of 7.62 x 39. No Ar mags or 5.56 to be found.

You could pay me to go but you probably wouldn't like my going rate.

No way in hell I would go there. Not even if they were giving away free ammo.

It is a pain in the ass these days. last month the line was wrapping around the building at 0830. I am going to wait until the after noon to get in and look for a few parts. It is almost circus like entertainment at times.

I hear OD Green is giving away 1000 rnds of .223 to anyone who shows up with a bag of Cheetos to make up for the bad press they've received lately.

The second Jax store (the one with the feed) is off S. Boulder Rd behind the Taco Bell.

Lafayette Feed is where we will be going. It is just east of town on Baseline (hwy7).

Parking situation at Tanner ought to be interesting.
It sucks on a normal weekend.

No guns going out of Douglas County gunshow today due to background check backlog.

I'm just wondering how many mistaken identity failures there will be by CBI??? I was denied 10 years ago for mistaking identity, guy with same name out of La-Platta county for domestic violence. I Had to have CBI send a packet to me, had to go to a LEO and finger printed, back ground check again! And send them back to CBI!! WTF??

Funny you should mention this, when I moved here and went to purchase a sporting arm, CBI had some sort of screw-up and mistook me for some sort of offender with the same name (wrong middle name though) and I was nearly arrested. Fun times...

I had me one of those mistaken identities also when I moved here back in 06. I got denied at Sportsmans and had to get info from back home and submit it to CBI. I finally got a letter stating I had 30 days to pick the firearm up without another background check.

I wouldn't waste my money down there. prices would be insanely over priced, waits would be too long, you won't be able to walk an inch without bumping into someone. unless you are a vendor or something, I would not want to be there.
