I hope your all NRA members, if not please become one. For those who are not please read:

Colorado: National Gun Ban Advocates Seek to Make Colorado Their Top Priority for the 2013 Session
Governor John Hickenlooper, a former member of a national anti-gun group called Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) founded and funded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, was justrecently joined (http://www.nramedia.org/t/962638/67231332/19774/0/) by thirteen mayors in Colorado to coordinate with President Obama to help pass gun control measures here in Colorado and nationally.
Governor Hickenlooper has also gone on the offensive when it comes to gun control by makingstatements (http://www.nramedia.org/t/962638/67231332/19775/0/) just this past week that the “time is right” to consider stripping away your gun rights this next session.
Earlier this year in an ABC interview (http://www.nramedia.org/t/962638/67231332/19776/0/), just after the terrible tragedy in Aurora, Governor Hickenlooper was skeptical that tougher gun laws would have prevented such a disaster. He stated, in part:

“This wasn’t a Colorado problem [referring to Colorado gun laws]… He [James Holmes] would have found explosives. He would have found something else. Some sort of poisonous gas. He would have done something to create this horror.”
Governor Hickenlooper’s statement on ABC was heartfelt and realistic in its approach, which was appreciated by not only those suffering families in Colorado but by families across this country. This is the same heartfelt and realistic approach that the NRA has always and continues to take in the days since the tragedy in Aurora and more recently in Newtown, Connecticut.
As we know all too well, there are those in Colorado and across the country who do not support the Second Amendment the way you and I do. They choose to take an impulsive approach to these situations that could end up harming more law-abiding citizens in the process.
Those anti-gun extremists are looking to Colorado as a "guinea pig" to push through ineffective and illogical gun control laws at the state level; those that have proven to be failures in other states, and solely affecting and punishing law-abiding citizens.

There has already been serious discussion by some Democrats in the Colorado General Assembly to ban commonly-owned semi-automatic rifles, ban “high capacity magazines,” ban online sales of ammunition, restrict private sales and reverse the state Supreme Court ruling on Campus Carry. These misguided views are an affront to our constitutional rights as law-abiding citizens.
The battle to protect our gun rights that lies before us in this next legislative session in is one unlike we have ever seen. As gun owners, sportsmen and supporters of the Second Amendment, we urge you to contact Governor John Hickenlooper and your state legislators to respectfully express your opposition to restrictions to your lawful gun rights.
Governor John Hickenlooper can be reached by e-mail (http://www.nramedia.org/t/962638/67231332/19777/0/) or telephone at (303) 866-2471 (tel:%28303%29%20866-2471). Contact information for your state legislators can be found here (http://www.nramedia.org/t/962638/67231332/19778/0/).
Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org (http://www.nramedia.org/t/962638/67231332/111/0/) for further updates.

The proposal would immediately expand the definition of Assault Weapon under current state law to apply to firearms which show one particular physical trait, as opposed to two, like the presence of a pistol grip beneath the action of the weapon.

This completely destroys the concept of an "assault weapon". If the definition is so loose already and they're wanting to expand it, how can it have any credibility?

You're using credibility is a sentence talking about a politician wiping their ass with the paperwork that secures and defines their job?

Of course we're the guinea pigs, we just legalized marijuana. Does that surprise anyone? Hickenlooper doesn't want weed legal here so he's going to punish us any way he can. Besides we can't have all the blood thirsty weapons in this state when all the potheads get here.

There have been several issues that caused this problem. the only hope we have is to hold out long enough to get some kind of majority back or maybe a pro-gun governor

So, in a semi-serious question....

Can COS invoke "home rule" and allow whatever they want, since Denver did the opposite to ban things?

If the federal government initiates a prohibition of firearms I think it could be the final straw for many states as THAT would be blatantly crossing the line of what the federal government was created for. If anything it should be the federal government stepping in to restore individual rights if a state tries to TAKE them away.

I think that is what the liberals' in control of Colorado will be seeking this term.......

We are a high gun owner state with a completely controlled and compliant state government. Of course we're the experiment. They will push for changes in steps until they can't get any more or there is active civil resistance.

If this state goes full retard, i would seriously be tempted to move. I have a great house with great friends and neighbors here, but it would be something i would consider for principal.

I think the breaking point for me would be elimination of CCW. If they did an AWB here but grandfathered, while i would be upset, i could stay. If they strip the right to carry here, 95% chance i bail.

I have sent emails and letters, but who knows what the future holds. Luckily for me, i work for a company based in every single state, with many locations per state. I can easily transfer. My wife on the other hand would be leaving an amazing job she loves, so that is the 5% sticking point lol
