now, i dont know who really made the video. but, it states my beliefs to a T. It tows the Constitutional line. IT is completely inline with the 2A. It spells out what the governmental bodies need to do and are required to do. and if they fail, what the consequences are. it was a good videos regardless of who made it.

Scary isn't what they are after. They are after 'formidable'. Agree with their politics or not, they have achieved that more than once.

I think the real Anonymous IS the hard-core left. I'm not convinced that video was created by Anonymous. I could be wrong but I don't think that's their style.

Anonymous is not some monolithic group with a single purpose or even philosophy other than being anti- government. I wouldn't read anymore into it than it serves those anti- government feelings to protest the current action. In the end they'll piss off the .gov a little, but they're not going to change the administration's mind.

I've never heard of anonymous until this thread. and from what I've seen in the last 15 minutes...they seem "alright" to me. but if someone could enlighten me to their past exploits I would be greatly appreciative. I prefer to know as much as I can about someone or something before I can call it good or bad.

suppose I could have done that for myself...brain fart. very interesting though. according to that it didnt really seem like they are left or right, they just...are. aside from the whole censorship deal, I dont really agree with their actions in that regards. I dunno though, seems pretty sketchy in any case.

No worries. I work in information security, so I've been following this group for a while now. Anarchists seems to be most accurate label IMO. They do appear to be quite skilled in the digital realm when they take up a cause. As everyone and everything is connected via the interwebz these days, it's best not to piss them off.

I concur that this video shows they are on our side... however (dot dot dot, pause for effect), their past actions have shown them to be very dangerous (hacking is only part of it, but in that respect they are good at what they do- google it). The most dangerous part is that they fit their name well- they are anonymous. The FBI has no idea how many they are, where all of them are, and some of their Cyber Crimes Division experts believe, at least a few, are quite skilled and nearly undetectable. Furthermore, they supported OWS, that is enough to make me not really fall in behind their cause- but that video does potentially open some eyes, and reminds us of the duties of the several government offices. Doubtful any violations will have those duties actually come into play, and I seriously doubt there will be any follow through. Just the thought of Civil War is enough to make most shudder and look to find an alternative- myself included.

I think as a group like Anonymous gains more notoriety the more likely other groups, organizations, or even individuals will try to be like them or post things claiming to be them. I am not an Anonymous expert but I thought this video was a little cheesy compared to the other stuff that I have seen. And it looks like HBAR beat me to the punch above with his reply.
