View Full Version : NBC's David Gregory of Meet the Press breaks gun law on his show.
New to posting on the board, hello all!
Just heard about this one and haven't seen it posted here... Thought I would share.
This morning on Meet the Press which is filmed in Washington DC, the host, David Gregory was waving around a 30 round high capacity magazine. As someone who has lived in the District for a time, I am aware that DC is one of the most guilty areas of infringing on 2A and has instituted a BAN on all high capacity magazines.
So if the people calling for bans on things don't follow their own laws currently in place, how would they ever expect others to follow their BS laws?
I am not sure if this is a felony or what, but it would be nice to see this get some traction in the media to show how ridiculous these laws are and how easy they are to break weather you only have good intentions, or if you are a crazed mad-man!
BAN = INFRINGE!

No, no, no...it's only illegal if a gun owner does that sort of thing. A liberal elitist like Gregory is exempt from the law.

He kept trying to get LaPierre to say something he could hang him with...was a really bad ambush er interview. Though I am sure LaPierre knew what was coming the moment he sat in the chair, but it was just so bad.

There's a White House Petition (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/press-charges-against-david-gregory-possession-30-round-high-capacity-assault-rifle-magazine/gMNRPpPl) to get him arrested. :D

Possession of a prohibited hi-cap mag on national television? I think citizens should insist he be arrested and prosecuted for a felony, and he should be pressured to testify against the individual who gave it to him. It is unfair and unjust that there be a double standard. Maybe his prosecution for felony weapon charges (which he is clearly guilty of -- there is no defense for his actions), with a felony conviction and mandatory minimum sentencing, will demonstrate how backward and counterproductive these laws are.

Just yet another example of how the law does not apply to the elite and their cronies.

Playing Devil's advocate.
If they removed the spring and follower is it still a high cap mag. Or if they inserted the 'stop' that limits the 30s to 10s like they sell in California?
Just wondering what his defense is going to be is all.

Its a moot point as he will never be made to present any defense. Silly surf, the law is for you, not for them.
Hold the libs to the letter of the law. No exceptions for the pravda media.

Why sign a petition to enforce the law? Does this apply to other crimes as well? his goal is 25000. I'd take those odds if I commit a crime.

I watched meet the press this morning. David Gregory was an ass, he kept interrupting and being disrespectful. My wife wanted to punch the fag out so the interviewee could finish his sentence, and my wife didn't even know who Wayne was.

That is possibly the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. There is no such thing as an "ANONYMOUS" tip with the gov.

Looks like the bottom is removed, just a mag body... Any "normal" person in DC that would be a crime, but it will be his out. Which he will never even have to give..
On another note he sends his kids to a high security school, while he mocked the idea of security at schools... http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/gregory-mocks-lapierre-proposing-armed-guards-sends-kids-high-security-school_691057.html
26 little kids... This guy is a sensationalist. He's a fucking idiot.

SIGNED. Only wish I could vote Chicago-style on this one.

Dang it, you're right. No base, spring, or follower. They are sneaky!
OTOH, Wayne should have been prepared for this question with the info that this dickhead's kid goes to a high-security school.

Remember, his kids goes to school with Obama's kids.
So if a mag without a floorplate, spring, and follower is not considered a mag, at which point does it become illegal?

“No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm. A ‘large capacity ammunition feeding device’ means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition,” D.C. code states (http://mpdc.dc.gov/page/firearm-registration-general-requirements-study-guide). Violations may include a $1,000 fine or imprisonment for up to a year.

Why didn't NBC press that hard for answers to Yes/no questions from our president when he was interviewed? He was allowed to bloviate like a used car salesman, while someone who wants to fight FOR our rights is treated like an idiot and a criminal.

Sadly, you know that this investigation is just to be able to say that they did an investigation. The response will be that this was NOT a working mag, blah blah blah, and the case will be closed. On to bigger and better things.

So what is the story on this? As I write this, I am 1 hour away from Thursday. This thing happened on Sunday morning. One of the reasons many Americans have firearms is because the cops can't make it to your house in time to save you from the bad guys trying to rob your house and kill you on the way out, but do they expect us to wait 4 days and more for them to show up? Why is this guy not fleeced of his illegal high capacity magazine and booked into jail?

I've seen some noise on this, but all just reference it is being looked into, anyone hear anything more than that? Though it is being sold as the gun supporters are fueling the fire to get him in trouble, not that he broke the law and should be accountable etc.
