Just got a polish AK47 imported by IO inc and it does not have a bayonet lug. I'm looking to have one put on. Any info would help.

Have someone put a glob of weld and then reshape it to a bayonet lug or you have to replace the gas block

Guess I'm not sure how you would do that. Where the lug would normally be there is a piece of metal that holds the cleaning rod in but is not cut for the bayonet

Those ears on either side of the lug is where the bayonet latches on to.

Does that muzzle brake fit a bayonet? It looks large.

No breaks to big. But that spot does not have any ears or notches its smooth a bayo slides right off

Build it up with weld OR buy a new gas block. I toss the bayonets out. There's no reason ANYONE NEEDS A BAYONET, geezzzzzz us h crist

I used to feel that way until the '94 ban plus Bush the 1st's 922r. Since then I try to get a bayonet for everything. If the bastards don't like it I like it. If you have only one AK it should take a bayonet. If you have more then only some have to have it.

I used to think that there was no reason for a bayonet on a privately owned firearm, then I saw this.

Sarcasm steve you missed it. In reality i did sell most of my M1 garand, M1A and early Ar bayonets when people insisted they hand me substantial sums of money.
