THIER ORGINAL THREAD...
I really, really want to say something nice but I just can't come up with anything to say. So instead I'll say this, is the NRA going to pay for it????? The National Rifle Association’s call to put armed guards in every public school in America!!! Last time I checked we were short on funding our schools to actually educate our children.
I have an idea, maybe a ban on all assault rifles. The only people who need them are the Military and the Police. It's okay to carry certain guns for your protection and rifles for hunting but I'm sure there aren't too many hunters out there who use assault rifles. If there are they must be as insane as the crazy peeps that go around shooting people. Or how about taxing assault rifles/semi-automatics w/ high magazines by 30% or 40% and then the peeps that purchase them can pay to protect our schools.
I realize it's not the guns that kill people it's the people behind them but honestly, does anyone need weapons of mass destruction? Other than those "Who Protect and Serve our Country." There I got that off my chest!!!

How about instead of giving all these deadbeats welfare we use that money? I don't again see how banning any weapon is going to prevent killings. All it will do is keep law abiding citizens from obtaining them. Oh but the criminals will still be able to get them illegally!!! I personally do not think anyone should be able to tell me what kind of guns I can buy anymore that what kind of cereal I eat!!

I didn't say it would prevent killings but if you want to purchase assault rifles you "the gun buyer" should be taxed more so we can put armed police officers at every school in America. I agree, the dead beats on welfare should also assist. But just like not every gun purchaser is a murder not everyone who is on welfare is a dead beat.

So your solution is to tax law abiding citizens even more? It’s just another knee-jerk reaction to a tragedy. Why don’t we outlaw airplanes since that is what the terrorists used to bring down the towers? Or tax flyers more since they now want to fly in those weapons of mass destruction??
