This, according to Pete Brownell, CEO of Brownell's.

I saw the report on one of the national evening news programs and then found the cite a bit later. Apparently he was trying to explain their online ordering problems to some of the fine folks over at ARFCOM.

In any case - that is one hell of a lot of magazines - AND - the word is getting into the mainstream press. If the stats for firearm sales indicates a similar pattern, the message to the politicos could not be any clearer.

They don't care about messages. A lot of people operate on the principle that the libs and politicians don't understand, and need help understanding the realities.

Problem is, the politicians fully understand the realities; and don't care. They are after power and control, and will use any pretext to get what they want. And most of the libs can't think by themselves.

I don't get what you're trying to say.

A few things.

There has been some talk about the fact that the press has not offered much coverage of the 'run' on sales of firearms, magazines and ammo. In this instance, the story was run on one of the primetime evening news programs - either ABC, CBS or NBC (cannot recall which of them I was watching at the time).

While it is debatable, at least some politicians are keenly interested in the wishes of the electorate. To the extent that electorate are now rushing to purchase firearms, ammo and magazines in anticipation of an upcoming ban, those politicians who care about the wishes of the electorate will now be more clearly aware of the popularity of firearms, ammo and magazines. Unfortunately the election cycle just concluded - a fact some politicians are eager to seize upon - while others are looking at running again in less than 2 years. The mid-terms could be brutal for some of the politicians who underestimate the will of the electorate once aroused - as it now seems they are.

Make it any clearer?

I just read an oxymoron, in a general discussion thread no less. YES!

Entirely possible.

To simplify - I think it is a good thing for the politicians to be aware of the dramatic surge in sales of firearms, magazines and ammo. At least a few of them will be more circumspect about their future votes on gun control. Does that clear it up?
