new range, opens next friday (soft, hard open march 1st)
Indoor range, 15 lanes, automated target carriers.
Anything up to and including .50BMG (indoors is going to be loud!)
draw from holster is fine, rapid fire is fine.
We went and took a tour and honestly it looks very cool, we'll probably be joining (because it's close). They are giving tours if you want to go up and take a look around, first day for memberships is Feb 15th.

I got burned by the last owner. Sorry he passed away, but don't think I will chance giving my money 2x. I'd rather drive to Fort Collins or Ault.

I joined yesterday. Got the CCW and March discount. 30 bucks a month after that and you can shoot all you want. Target shuttles are excellent, lights come on the target when it stops. Can be programmed to go to edge and back to face at different times. Nice facility and people. Staff told me draw from holster was frowned upon. Ammo sales and a great assortment of targets available. Wear something to keep the wind off the back of your neck. Great ventilation. You can shoot just about anything except steel core and tracer ammo. I believe next saturday they're going to have a machine gun shoot.

I was particularly attracted to the hours. Open Sundays, for instance, and well into the evening. Closed Mondays, big deal. I really need weekend and evening range time for my schedule.

If they do another special for no start up fee, I will probably join again. I have emailed the new owners and i did really like the range last time. Still a little gun shy (pun), though.

I came home and found a refund from the estate of the former owner. If they have a special, I will most likely join.

How much cheaper can they go? [BooHoo] Their one-time initiation fee is just $150 ($100 if you are a CCW holder) and the monthly fee is just $30/month. After all, remember that they have a bank payment to make ($2 Million+ bank loan).

Personally I would say that they are undercharging for their initiation fee. If this was my range I would have a higher initiation fee just so I made sure that I would not attract "gang-bangers-wannabes" (like they have in Firing Line in Aurora). Also, look at how much Whistling Pines charges ($350 + $25/month); and if you ask me, I like the Loveland range much better.

I had a chance to visit Front Range Gun Club a week ago and I was pleasently surprised to find out that they have done an amazing job with this range. If I lived closer to Loveland I would not hesitate to sponsor this range by joining it.

Stop looking for excuses and join that range, you won't be dissapointed!! [Tooth]

I was comparing it to Pawnee Sportsman Center in Fort Collins & Ault. $250 a year gets you reduced rate at the indoor range in Fort Collins and unlimited in Ault with a real rifle range. As opposed to almost $500 a year. Plus I was nervous because I joined it once and they closed. It took 9 months to get a refund of that. So, yeah, I am hesitant. I have spoken with the new own and I do understand t what they are doing and I think they have a better business model than the previous owner. I am just not ready to fork over that amount of dough, yet.

My buddy is a member and he invited me to join him a few weeks back. $12 for guests and had a blast. Great automatic targets that can be programmed for drills. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wasn't too crowded either, got to take our time and really destroy some paper.

This right here is why I Hesitate at joining the local clubs.
One person says its OK, then someone else gets in your kool-aide about the very same thing ten minutes later.
I have "guested" at several clubs as well as a few of the public ranges that do this or they hem-haw at certain rules or requirements.

"Well I let my Brother Earl do dat 'cuz he's married t' our sister Betty-Jo, but only if'n he had less'n a 12 pack."

WTF?

If I could convince a certain place WAAAAAAAAAY out east to move closer....

when I was there, the rule was (and most indoor ranges are this way), draw from holster is ok after they have seen you do it to make sure you are safe. i.e. marked in your file that it's ok.

doesn't seem unreasonable.

But then another visitor reports that it is "Frowned upon"

so you see my point...?

Front Range is a great place to shoot. Clean, modern, everything works, friendly staff. I can't quote you the rulebook, but I believe holster work is no issue when you show that you are competent and not just trying to be a cowboy. I've seen plenty of people drawing quick and fast from their holsters at that range. I probably go there about once a month.

So since I just whipped in to Trigger time to look at something and left going I will never be back. I thought I would praise these guys

I live 4 miles from Trigger Time and yes FRGC is much more affordable but they are so much friendlier. They have and make the time to answer questions, BS, help you out etc etc. I have never walked out of FRGC anything but happy. I drive 25 miles each way to go there and to me it is worth it over the Trigger Time unfriendliness 4 miles from home.

Kudos to FRGC on outstanding service and a very clean safe place to shoot.

No thread on Trigger time so I will save specifics til there is, but for me

FRGC is my choice for Northern Colorado

TDYRanger and I will be at Front Range tomorrow morning after 11:30am. Going to put a few rounds thru my AK in preparation for the Kalashnikov class. Plus anything lese we can carry. We usually walk in there with a heavy load.[AR15]

Live about 5 minutes from this range and my wife and I decided to join since it's a lot more convenient to get some practice with our pistols instead of a 2 hour round trip to pawnee. The staff was very friendly, I kinda wish I had known that they had a discount on the initiation if you had a CCW I will bring it up next time I visit. Noticed people posting about new owners, so maybe the discount was with the old owners. I am definately excited to try out their leagues.

Another bonus to my sunday was after shooting for about 1 1/2 hours I got to enjoy a beer at Grimm Brothers a few buildings over :)

Just thought I'd throw my $0.02 in here -

Pros:
- Best ventilation of any indoor range I've been to.
- The staff is always helpful and friendly. Ed and Steve in particular.
- Tons of leagues, classes. Cody teaches AR-15 classes that fill up pretty quick.
- Rangemasters are EXTREMELY safety conscious. They will walk through doing safety checks quite often, especially on busy weekends. They are polite but firm. Awesome.
- Grimm Bros Brewhouse is around the corner. They have food trucks and fantastic beer. You can't go wrong after a few hours of shooting. :)

Cons:
- They're so popular, there's currently a wait list for membership. :P

As far as holster draw, it's pretty clearly written in their range rules (binder is very easy to find on every bench). Holster draw is only allowed after they've gone over the rules in person with you, and have observed that you are being safe. I believe you have to be a member, not just a guest.

I've been a member of the FRGC for a few months now. I started as a complete noob after I bought my first rifle, and took one-on-one instruction with Cody. Awesome people there, a bit rough around the edges, but overall definitely a great place to shoot!

I am also a member there. Just a few blocks from the shop!

I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and the facility. And holster draws are not a problem. Just ask a RO. I think they mainly want to show that the benches are removable! And most importantly, as mentioned, Grimm Brothers share a wall!!

Any members wanna get together there, just PM me!!
